Why do all the cleanest bikes remove the foot protector bars? I agree ot looks better but is there any other reason other than weight reduction?

BIG Ant in parts only. 4,000 i payed 2,500 for the bike. but it looked nothing like it dose now! it was pretty much a stock 97. yellow and red.
