Fantastic review as always guys!... BUT after seeing the delivery and installation process of this TV I am more convinced than ever with the idea of a modular screen. I love the idea of myself being able to build a TV in whatever size and aspect ratio I want, and the best thing is that I could increase the size of the screen whenever I wanted. The LG 77 nano I bought is no longer showing on Amazon. It has a central stand with a wide U shaped base and it could not be easier to plug and play. So much better than the 55 Sony in the bedroom. I did find the little wheel on the remote easily breaks so I bought 2 more for back up. The sound is excellent though I never needed to go above half volume- in fact the captions are used with no sound (and they don't take up half the screen like the Sony 55). This nano LG can be blinding so I use one setting with low contrast, low brightness, and minimum color. I find in a dim room that's all you need. My biggest apprehension in buying ($1499.00 Amazon w/del) was if the TV would capture a signal with just indoor rabbit ears. Again the LG out performed the Sony with over 150 channels here on the West Coast (I watch English only so I delete about 85). I do it by coupling 2 RCA (#121z) rabbit ears and a small in-line antenna amp. Yes I sold TV'S for a living - but anyone can do this- Free broadcast ultra high definition !

How long until we see a $4,000 MSRP 83" and $8,000 MSRP for 97" G series or equivalent? These prices imo would get the masses purchasing these flagship OLEDS. I didn't just pull these numbers from the sky. I mean looking at where oled price points began and where we are now. I still think we're a few years away from seeing a really good price point for more bulletproof tech. Where the prices are currently I feel there are too many downsides in colorbanding, DSE, low brightness etc. Nobody wants to wait that long to purchase a TV but am certainly looking forward to the day where these issues are a non factor and we can pick up a flagship for a reasonable price. Love the videos B! Been watching for about a year or so now. Great content. Can't wait to see what 2023 brings!

Always like your videos, thank you B. It seems no body goes to vivid with this tv. I have an 83 G2 and vivid to me is just stunning. Every time I try the other modes , yes they are nice , I keep finding myself going back to vivid. It adds much more brightness to the picture without blowing out any of the picture quality. Just the color temp need to be brought down from cool 50 to warm 20’s or so and turn off dynamic contrast from default high and other tweaks of course but that extra brightness remains

I'm a big fan of entertainment furniture with built-in TV mounts that swivel. Less premium but very practical.

Man thanks for the video. I like the way you explain things and the DIY is priceless. Although I’m still confused as to deciding between a Hisense U8H 65/55? Your Lady is a good Sport. It’s hard to find good help nowadays. Take care.

We got a 77inch of this. First one that came had bright lines running down the TV. We exchanged for another one that has literally grids of lines, all be it much fainter all over the TV. The brighter lines seemed to go very faint after having the TV on for a few hours, so we thought, we don't wanna waste anymore time dealing with buying a new TV (an experience that should be a good one). Now I can't help but notice that the top corners put out a large area of pink hue on a nearly black screen. It almost looks like backlight bleed but this is an OLED. Noticed it while changing apps. This QC is not good.

LG 83” C1 here and same experience. First screen was really uneven, plus banding and a solid block down the middle. Eventually LG agreed to replace it. Second screen isn’t as bad but still has banding that I find really noticeable in dark scenes (which are supposed to be an OLEDs strength). It really takes away from my enjoyment of the TV. Not sure if I’m going to fight them for a 3rd screen just to play the OLED lottery again. I suspect they’ll claim it’s within acceptable spec anyway.

I have the 77inch as well. When I got mine, it had white line going down the screen. I figured something was wrong with it. I had my girlfriend call Amazon so that I could send it back and exchange for a new one. While she was on the phone with Amazon I decided to run the pixel cleaner and it fixed the issue. I haven't had any issues with it.

@@StarfireRebirthCM if you have this mentality, where everything must be perfect for you to accept it, you’ll waste your whole life in search of that perfect product that simply doesn’t exist. You’ll miss out on many experiences as you grow old and bitter finally realising on all that you missed out on. As an engineer I can tell you nothing is absolutely perfect. Everything we make is within some tolerance. The more cutting edge a product, the harder it is to make, and the more likely there will be some defect. Different products will have different defects. At some point you have to think to yourself, if the experience is 95% there, and these things aren’t very impacting on your daily experience (in fact I never notice them if I don’t look for them and had forgotten about them), then why waste your time? What would you have done, spent the next few months playing a lottery game with a very expensive product, meanwhile souring your relationship with the seller and manufacturer who might refuse to sell to you in the future? Or would you have returned it and not purchased anything?

It amazes me why most manufacturers suggest lying the tv face down to attach the wall mount. Big scratch risk and unnecessary manoeuvre, when they tend to be stable enough in the box to attach it and lift straight from the box to wall. Another tip always wear vinyl or latex gloves, they give you more grip without having to clamp your hand tightly and no finger/handprints if it doesn't have a screen protector
@BTheInstaller2 жыл бұрын
I agree with first point but won't wear gloves.
@cw205mi162 жыл бұрын
@@BTheInstaller Fair comment - I'm definitely no pro installer, just buy a lot of tvs :D I just find they give you reassuring grip without having to hold too tight
