My Grandfather Jimmy Phillips was the Head Flagger there for 32 yrs. It's so nice to come on here and watch him do what he loved to do.

Also enjoyed as a spectator the heat race handicapping - bottom 1/3 in points in 1st heat, middle 1/3 in second heat, top 3 in the 3rd heat.

I just found this video and it brought back some great memories. I see the orange #8 , I used to race against him at Nazareth back in the late 70's and early 80's. Back the it was Jack Zeiner Sr. I'm assuming the this is Jack's son on this video. Jack Sr. was almost unbeatable at Nazareth and he was a true gentleman, champion and racer

Recall for a short period of time that EWS paid $500 for a 10 lap Modified heat race win!

So, the 83 street stock, and the yellow & blue 83 Mod are my brothers, and he says they can’t be from 98. You sure this is 98??

My research indicates this video was indeed from July 17, 1998, as it indicates in the description.

@@markwalmsley5892 Do you mean Mike Grbac? He was fatally injured at Reading.

Housing developments "surrounding" EWS are what killed it.

@@markwalmsley5892 I was with his brother Jimmy and their mother in Martinsville that Sunday . . . we had neighboring motel rooms . . . and they had just left to drive back to New Jersey (I was staying overnight) when the call came in to my room that Mike had been seriously injured at Reading. This was way way before cellphones so there was no way to get in touch with them on the road. In a way, it probably was a blessing in that they wouldn't have to endure the 500-mile drive with that bad news riding with them.
