Thanks Gary, there are a lot of challenges that come about when milling and I am always learning new things. I appreciate you mentioning my channel to John from the Bradleys On Catbird Hill. I just glanced at his channel and we do have similar interest. I will subscribe and watch some of his videos late tonight. Happy Tractoring Gary!

Thank you kindly John. There was an area I didn't cover and that is where I downsize big logs with a chainsaw so they can fit on my sawmill. Have a great day John!

Good morning Paul. When you were loading the lumber onto your trailer, I was wondering if you were going to add spacers so you could retrieve your ratchet straps. But the mighty Kubota made the strap removal easy. Thanks for taking us along with you, Ben

Good morning Ben. I decided not to use spacers since I will be using the wood in the trailer soon and I don't want it to get to much air so it slows down the drying process. I want to keep the wood as green as possible for now. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Thanks for the kind words Sir, I am not sure who it was that passed by and honked the air horn. It really helps out with having a dump trailer to unload the wood. Hope you have a great weekend Sir.

Awesome, I got a tip for you. How about you Make an 8 inch L-shaped measuring stick so you don’t have to screw around with the measuring tape each time then you can just butt it up to the bottom and move your blade to the top of the stick.

Nice Mill ! You made a nice beam & a little extra , Yes nice to keep your work area clean making good use of the slab wood :) Turning them big logs I find it easier to use cant hook in the middle of the log " how many hrs do you have on the mill ? Looks like you have lots of nice timbers done :)

Thanks! It is nice to have a clean organized work area, makes things simple. I either use a strap in the middle or a cant hook at one of the ends to roll the cant to minimize damage to the freshly cut wood. Not sure how many hours I have put on the mill but it is a lot. I do have a lot of inventory on hand, both milled lumber and logs. Most of it you don't see in the video. Thanks for watching and have a great day!

Great video 👍 Thank you for taking the time to film. Would it have been better to center the heart on the 8x8 as it relates to warping as it dries? I'm new to milling, thanks!

Thank you I appreciate it and the time you had taken to watch the video. It is better to center the pith when possible. Better yet if you could eliminate the pith all together. Have a great day!

Noticed when you turned the log, you stepped between the rail and the log. If that heavy log tried to tip toward you, it might have broken your leg. I keep my legs outside the rails. Just saying.. D.

dont use the magnetic measurement which comes with the mill... mine shrinked segnificantly over time and i was wondering why im off-spec all the time replaced it with an metal one - everything fine again.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check the accuracy of mine. I normally don't use the scales, I use a measuring tape. Have a great week!
