Throughout the video you may see that the 1% lows are terrible, but this is not the cpu's fault. For some reason this season Fortnite has some terrible optimizations causing horrendous 1% lows. Not only that but because the 9800X3D is new its also not gonna have such good 1% lows but if you give it some time then it would improve. Also for some reason the cpu usage on 14700k was sometimes wrong so if you see that it was at 1% usage, then just know that it is probably just a glitch. Hope this helps👋

The results in the video are completely normal for Intel. Fortnite is Intel optimized, which is why every professional Fortnite Pro plays with the Intel i9 14900. Intel is always the winner for 1% low fps.

@@schacktastisch 100% agree, this not the first time I’ve seen bad lows (1% 0.1, frame time) occasionally stutters with the x3D on Fortnite. (Don’t know if this happens when the cache has to be filled or already full. ) It’s to frequently. That goes for both 7800x3D and 9800x3D (Just look it up and do your own research guys, don’t trust me or anybody else, that’s the only way you’ll find the truth) High avg and high max but lows are low and to far away from avg. They seem to outperform intel at almost every game but not on Fortnite. That’s why it’s the gaming king of CPU’s. This video has nothing to do with stock or tuning, it’s not about new chip or optimization with the x3D. If anything the x3D should perform better stock vs stock but when tuned properly intel wins. Especially for Fortnite. Gaming experience will be better with a proper tuned 14900k. But that requires a good motherboard, Ram, cooling, And knowledge. So if you don’t have the money, knowledge of how to tune. Get the x3D.

It’s absolutely INSANE the 9800X3D has a 47% higher average than the 14700K in fortnite. Also, Not saying this person does this, but y’all should beware a lot of these style of videos with these type of thumbnails and no audio are not real gameplay and the KZbinr doesn’t have the actual components. Also, how did this person get the exact same gameplay on three different matches? Unless you are using replay mode I don’t know how that is possible.

3d cache for games is absolutely insane, although when talking about some other activities these processors can be much more close in performance and the 14700k can beat them in multicore due to its advantage on core numbers

A 9800x3d because the 7800x3d is going above MSRP right now, seeing them for $460-480. That’s literally the MSRP of the 9800X3D. Wait for the 9800X3D to get stronger stock in January 2025, or go to micro center and pick one up. Micro center gets 40-100 9800x3ds per week, the one in Houston and the one in Kansas City both got 30 of them and they lasted all day. Also, the 9800x3d is 25% faster than the 7800X3d in productivity workloads and is actually faster than the 9700X in rendering and other all core workloads AND its overclockable to 5.4-5.5GHz (5.6 if you’re lucky) which gives you another 5-6% performance in gaming and productivity. The 983D basically eliminated all of the weaknesses with the prior gen X3D chips.

Fortnite favors AMD. Consoles are running AMD hardware so that's what developers are focusing on. Nevertheless, you can see at 1:48 how the intel processor is taking the lead in the 1% lows department, so it in fact provides the best gaming experience. I tested a heavily overclocked 14900k 6.2 p-core/ 4.7 e-core/ 5.2 ring/ 8400 cl34 and I was still getting squashed in average and peak fps by a 5800x3d at 4.65/ 2100fclk/4200 cl13. But its just a Fortnite thing, many other games don't behave like this.

the 9800x3d is basically the newest and updated version of the 7800x3d. The 9800x3d is going to be better than the 7800x3d but good luck trying to get it because people are reselling it for 600+. Could wait for the restock or just get the 7800x3d, both are really good and top of the line cpus for gaming
