Which is why I don't believe that story leaked out of Foxboro. Kraft didn't get to be a billionaire by locking himself into contracts to hire unqualified guys to run his billion dollar company - especially a guy that there is no demand at all for. What we DO know is LAST off-season (1) Kraft said he wanted Vrabel to succeed Belichick BUT, Vrabel was still under contract in Tenn and the rumor was they were not going to let him leave. (2) Vrabel and GM Carthon butt heads and ownership fires Vrabel making Vrabel available to coach NE (3) Doddering old fool Kraft hires DEI Mayo and the story is leak he was contractually bound to hire unqualified, zero experience Mayo OVER Vrabel. This seems far fetched to me and was made up to justify passing on the guy NE fans WANTED - Vrabel - in order to go woke and hire DEI Mayo. If you are going to quote vrabel’s last 18 games, at least mention the results coinciding with his QB and best rb in the nfl at the time, missing a significant portion of those games. The patriots have no idea how to draft wide receivers but with 130 million in cap space, wr and offensive line can be shored up super quickly. Then use the 4th pick in the draft on defense carter or hunter. Will they win 10 next year? Likely not, but they will double the wins for sure if they spend money smartly this offseason.

Hiring Vrabel is a good start...the next obstacle to this team improving is Wolf...was he demoted? Fired? If he's picking the players, Vrabel is screwed - hopefully Vrabel bringing in someone with experience and knowledge evaluating players to replace Wolf was non-negotiable - or at least has the final say over pinhead Wolf. Finally - assistant coaches - OC and DC... again, pinhead Wolf has no say in theses guys - or any position coaches. It's up to Vrabel - get a talented OC and DC and work with them to fill out their side of the ball.

IMHO, it was only 90 minutes because he won the last game, and lost the first pick, which irked me and I'm not even a Kraft. So that probably pissed off the Krafts to no end. They can't actually come out and tell Jerod to lose that's illegal, but he was clearly clueless about the significance of losing that last game. I would suggest that winning that game cost the Patriots millions of $ in draft trade possibilities and options. (I.e.; experienced players for draft picks.)
@youtubeconnollyfamily13 сағат бұрын
I was so mad when they won the game, but then the only thing that made me happy is when I found out they fired mayo. If you think about it. Winning that game was worth losing the top pick because mayo would not know what to do with it. Getting a new coach was worth having just the fourth pick. If we did lose that game, there’s a chance Mayo would still be the head coach.
