I never use the default templates with Elementor apart from visual inspiration in the odd case. I always just build my own and it's not a lengthy process. But Bricks does look amazing and one of these days I feel like I'm going to take the plunge and invest and learn a new platform and keep expanding my css knowledge.

It's gonna change your life. You will be shocked to learn that there is a world where there are templates that are actually usable starting points that save you time. Check specifically into Bricks, AutomaticCSS, and Frames. Because those templates are built using the ACSS CSS framework, which means the template will even inherit your existing site style and colours.

the difference between Bricks and Elementor gets even more stark when you look at the generated code, and check your design on mobile devices, or more importantly, check the result for accessibility. Elementor can produce decent results, as long as you don't look too closely. The quality of code Elementor puts out is really poor, and falls apart when you consider maintainability or accessibility.

Correct! There is nothing Elementor does that Bricks Builder doesn’t do better.

Comparing Bricks and Elementor is like comparing apples and pears. Whereas Elementor is more designed to suit absolute beginners or intermediate, Bricks always started with an approach to also satisfy custom coders and people which are actually the latest modern concepts of web development. Bricks is better in many cases, but it really depends on the user. Without any HTML, CSS and good overall knowledge, I suggest learning the basics and watch some tutorials first, as it can get quite overwhelming. Out of the box, Bricks doesn't require any plugins, but some of them are worth to have a look. I won't mention names here, as you'll find out.

I agree with your statement for the most part. I am of the opinion though, that Bricks is more beginner friendly than Elementor is because it actually lets you do stuff the proper way with queries and templates that align with core principles. This means that when you ready online about how to do things in native WordPress templates, that you can actually follow those instructions and build them in Bricks Builder the correct way. Typically Elementor almost always completely derails that process with its own workflow that gets in the way, causing a nightmarish amount of road blocks and "I can get 95% of the way I want to build it but this inflexible widget just won't quite do what I need, now I need to go looking for extra plugins which cause bloat, or I need to get custom code to the front end, God forbid, and now I need to register the code in a plugin, and register a short code to embed the shortcode on the front end which turns into a literal shortcode widget that doesn't parse any code and leaves u guessing on how it looks short of running the page in another browser window, and then guess how well it will go to manually style that code output with CSS because there's no CSS framework" I think . . . Elementor has a steeply harder learning curve than Elementor.

@@WPTotalCraft I agree on what you are saying, I just think or feel that Elementor feels slightly more intuitive, than Bricks. If you start from scratch, I think Bricks isn't harder to learn, and you will learn it the right way from the get-go. Why my go-to page builder is Bricks. It doesn't require numerous plugins to make it work the way you want.
