Min-maxing is nice for progression yes. But in my opinion do it only if you have the mental sanity, don't make yourself weared out of your new favorite game. Honest advice from a guy who have played atleast 15 different gacha games, play at your own pace (don't feel peer pressured by other players that have more free time than you), pull for who you enjoy/want the most (not for "needed" characters to clear certain content). Down the line all these thing won't even matter.

Finally a sane and normal person who is not rushing! I really don't get why people are spamming "copium" or think that the game "starves" you while it's not even a month in and you can get characters to level 70. In genshin you couldn't do that in less than a month. Also we didn't have any event so we don't know how many free stuff it gives (and genshin gave so much character exp and mora that you never touch leylines again). People are already jumping to conclusions, seems that no one has even the slightly hint of patience anymore.

I did something like this on genshin when it first released. Kill all the elites on the maps, pick your 100 artifact spots per day ect ect. I did this for like 4-5 months everyday and here I am today with far too many god artifacts with every character geared with decent to good artifacts and all the artifacts I get from weekly dungeons and the sake of spending resin are just going into making garbage +20s to feed for later. Point being, sure it's nice to min max now but you will eventually reach the point where it isn't necessary anyway so dont bother.

You still need to grind them since their drops has universal use like to level up your character, LC and traces. Star rail seems to go in a direction where you kinda want to build a lot of characters of different paths or elements so you might reach a point where you need a lot of their mats. I can understand that some people dont have the time to do this tho

Honestly i was already doing it at TL30+ when I finish the main story but i didnt realise the amount of exp it actually gives. I came frm genshin so Im used to basically ascending my characters but not maxing out their lvls and I was surprised tht my main DPS lvl maxed out after leaving them at lvl48 and my lvl40 allies went up to lvl43. I only realised this after I reached the next EL so i ended up using less exp books and was able to also ascend my 2nd team without evn farming exp calyx 😅😅😅

Giant cope what, exp is used for all characters and we're all leveling all of them now, it's good advice for people in early game who have some time to kill. Maybe not be doing this every day but certainly some days it's fine

And all of this is only for those of us crazy enough to want to min max time usage in this game. In a month, none of this will really matter. We will have some maxed out characters and be working on alternate teams or better relics. We might also get some more “fuel” from events which will also alleviate this. I realized the exp and ascension materials were slowing down at trailblazer 40, but damn this is some serious timegateing.

Yeah for most folks waiting is gonna just be a lot easier (and more fun) steadily while hoyo release events. I am a bit surprised at the relic dust from the simus though, I might well do that one lol bc I'm struggling for relic dust

If you are f2p it will take you several months probably to have just 8 units on max levels. You need 10 days of energy just to level 1 char to max level. Then you need to level traces, then cones xdd. In a month if f2p you will have nothing xddd

@@ixirion Yeah, but you only need 8 at fully max to make the content "easy". You can do all the content earlier, but by one month you will at least have a few units maxed out so the feeling of not having a lot of resources will lessen. It's going to be a long time before people have their fully kitted out teams, but from a resource perspective, you will feel the pain a lot less once you have at least 4 characters maxed so you have the "main team" ready to go no matter what.

@@TheClargest One month from when? XD Also F2p will not be able to clear full star chaos memory in a month 100%. For all other content you even dont need maxed team. The game is easy even now I auto SU no problem atm. Also you will need maybe 2-3 months to go from level 50 to 60 since exp curve kicks in hard. From 60-65 will take 6 months to a year if they follow GI curve. I really hope they will be generous with events because as soon as we pull several chars that we will ofc want to build resources will go brrr XD

Genshin Impact had events that gave immense amounts of XP books, credits and other resources, and I'm pretty sure Star Rail will too (they've been following the Genshin Impact progression system note for note so far). Calyx farming sucks but it's more like the "holding pattern" the game keeps you in when you have nothing better to spend your Trailblaze energy on, it's not going to be the actual main source of XP/credits.

Speaking of Genshin events.. I want more events like the Fischl event from 1.1 of around there. There was so much character exp you could farm, however you had to use resin, but at the same time it was a LOT more efficient

​@@djixi98Every mobile games supposed to do that. Usually when there's event, it would still need to use energy, but at the same time they would have a lot pool of rewards. This is why people saved resin when Genshin was out early, cause they saving it for future events, not for farming. But cause many people who just play gacha games started on Genshin, they protest to this "resin" thing. Hence the system is changed, now all events is free, but rewards is limited. The funny thing is, while yes many veteran players protest about resin back then, it's more because the game limit the buy. For whaler who have money, it's hard for them to grind. Yet many people who just play gacha games jumped on this bandwagon and complaint about the wrong thing.

How is everyone still surprised at this point? For those who came from Genshin, its roughly the same amount of time/days grinding for the character from level down to talents. It feels like a lot is being asked at this time since we are all still starting. Once we get to the equivalent of AR55+ where the drop rates are at the maximum, farming resources for the characters will be easy. Also, every resource is still accumulated manually. Wait for events to drop and you’ll get extra from there

Yep , i did the calc comparing ressources we got resin farming/trailblaze Taking into account that lvl 80 is the max for a character in star rail. Its exactly the same amount per resin/trailblaze spend The only diff is for artifact/relics but we got compensation with self modeling relic + more fuel in BP + more trailblaze power each day Also we got the character expedition giving XP , Money , Light cone xp People forgot what low AR drops are like and keep comparing it to their AR60 drops

As you've said, we get higher drop rates as we level so it won't feel like as much is being asked. I would also add that over time we'll have less to grind for. Like right now we're all at 0. No relics, no light cones, no characters or traces levelled. Eventually though we'll have more and more characters at max level with a good build, then that character is checked off the list permanently and you never have to farm anything for them again (unless of course better relics or light cones come out for them but that's usually a lot later in time).

@@yraco1232 That's me in Genshin and FGO - while I still have a shortage of resources from time to time, it doesn't feel like it's anything massive. The biggest gamechanger in games like those is getting enough characters to do high-level contant. After that it should get way easier. Early game and late game are relatively fine to casual playing, but the mid-game is completly brutal and feels like never ending grindfest, since you don't have resources for anything.

I think I'm going to focus all my TB power on level, light cone and traces first. Once I get to level 40, I might spend a couple days getting some of the best relic stat items but then I'm going to go right back to maxing traces. It's going to be much more enjoyable for me to play with characters that are already maxed out on level, light cone, traces when I go to grind relics every day.

The only thing I would do differently from you is prioritized to cone's 1st since that way if a new character comes out and you like them more. Or need them more? You can simply swap that cone onto that new character instead of making a new cone just for them.

I focus on ascension for weapons and characters first then tracers then relics. I don't farm for exp materials since all missions, events, chests and the like gives them so over time you'll get more of those then you'll even need

I did this every day for the first week to get a feel of the maps and gather some material and I'm pretty satisfied seeing a couple hundreds mats for stuff that now i don't need to farm in a. Hurry and of course exp. Maybe won't do it every day but once In a while sure, especially when new zones drops nice to know the lay of the land during events

its avg 33-34k per character for me on lvl45 (it was 29-29.5k on tl20to30), full clear eq3 (tl45) grants 25.820 credits tho (thats including all of the destructibles on the way, i didnt bother to clear ALL the destructibles tho) :c another test i did a couple days ago is with different world levels on SU, and you get maybe like 3 dust less on W3D1 compared to W3D2, but you clear it in significantly faster (since you can also skip "downloading" new characters and dont think about blessing choises too much), so you get more dust per time spent :)

Youre wrong about the 1.5x purple at 40, you get 1purple, 3blue, 2-3green which is more like 1.9x purple per exp leyline run

Trailblaize is not a limited resouce time management is though. If you log in and do your runs for the 180 power. Play for 6 hours you 60 at the end of the runs. so you can acutally have 240 TP a day if you manage it correctly. Becauses it takes 18 hours for full reset. Theres are other ways to farm exp. Puzzles Reset Weekly, each one provides 1 Basic Chest and 1 Epic chest. amount of books is RNG but there mini games inside the game. Take 2min to complete per run. Each Puzzle Location provides 140 steller Jade. The Cyber Security Guy in the SpaceStation Resets Weekly w/ New Runs 240steller jade 10min-20min invest. 4purple books per week. On the topic of Clearing the Maps of Mobs... just log out and reset the game, all the mobs on the map will respawn and Containes. Combing a 4 hour run w/ a 20hour run on the Asignments get you the most bang for your Time. w/ the 168 hours a week you can get 8 20hours runs a week if your on time... But then games becomes work and no longer fun. (this is for someone that daily log'ins) syncs w/ how many mobs you want to slay the 160k exp you eluded to is just the Bare-min.... With all the Dailies and Weekly resets you can have 3-4 10 pulls a week f2p style :D

I'm a minmaxer myself and, I love to it bcs that's how I usually play my games. And yes it will go slow along the way and that's how I want it to be. I grind at first, and I slow down after. It boost my progression so that I could progress better in the future. And when the time comes I won't be grinding anymore, well I'm back to the other games that I love. You are not obligated to rush, speedrun of min maxing. You do what you love to do, The reason most of the thing is time gated is for you to have a balanced life, And of course to have a balance long term game. Take your time, by all means. If you have free time then let's go grind all that stuffs!

I decided to take my time with this game as I don't want to burn out like I did with genshin. Playing hsr actually made me want to come back to genshin too. I'm not sure which game I prefer more, for the characters definitely hsr but I prefer genshin overall cuz u can jump. Anyways, I noticed it's really important to log in everyday in the early stages of the game, which I don't do unless I have time. Till ar 35 I've played this game without any guides & tutorials and my builds are somewhat okay except the body pieces which I fked up cuz I didn't know what the stats meant cuz I didn't know u could check that in the game. Playing hsr is like a breeze of fresh air. My characters are not maxed out, I struggle, I die, I come back stronger and feel relief when I finally defeat the enemy. The story is actually really interesting as I'm not looking for my long lost twin and I get to have my own opinions and I get to hear the mc's voice. There are also lots of funny pieces like the posters hung around in Bronya island, blue rose dan heng, sampo as well as squably looking dan heng. Sht had me in tears as I haven't seen anyone mention them on twitter. I usually play my games on no sound, but I couldn't do that during the general island arc. The voice lines are fking destroying me, especially sanpo's. I also logged in on my continent's server, eu, which I didn't do on genshin which resulted in me having lags 24/7 but I can't change that cuz my na account is just too op. The eu server lags less, but I still get laggy, especially in general planet cuz there's too many things there and I can't change crowd density. Hopefully I'll get the general tomorrow at 19:00, praying frfr. The moment I get home I'll be stuck watching the clock for 5 hours straight till it's general time.

if anyone here was smart they'd preform the ascension materials at a slight increase of cost its just so much better because then you can focus on relics and trace materials when your trailblaze level increases
