I'm a mail carrier so I'm on the road pretty frequently, my station has one of the largest high schools in the city within our zip code and I swear people get on their phones the millisecond their vehicle comes to a stop no matter what. Red light, stop sign, slow traffic. The generation that was raised on tablets is now old enough to drive and it SHOWS.

Yeah. But also older people too. I walk home from my school bus stop daily, and always put my phone up before I start to walk. The amount of older people who pull up to stop signs on their phones is crazy. They'll pull over the crosswalk and just sit there for a minute to look at their phone.

Earlier today, my wife and I were behind a gasoline tanker that was on the phone and kept drifting off the road. We went north on 79, and he went west on 80. Had he gone north we would have reported him. Since we weren't following anymore, we couldn't give an exact location Cellphones and guns aren't to blame. It's the jerkwad behind them!

We had that technology years ago. I drove an airport shuttle for a company in Vegas and if the vehicle was moving over 5mph, the cellphone and tablet would NOT let you use any APP or FUNCTIONS. THE screen would simply state to bring the vehicle to a stop in order to use your phone or tablet tools or functions. This was 10 years ago. This needs to be implemented NOW due to the fact that It's gotten so far out of control with people using their phone's while driving.

We got flicked off because god forbid someone in a nissan something or other wait more than a second for us make sure nobody was coming through the roundabout with kids in the vehicle. People have died at that roundabout because of drunk drivers speeding in from one of the roads. You have to stop and make sure it is safe before going. Yield doesn't mean you can't stop if you have to, but people who failed that portion of the written test think if it doesn't say "stop" then you just drive in regardless.
