Scrap LED TV for gold recovery.

My TV has broken down, since I have repaired the debtor twice, so far I have decided that I will sacrifice it for the purpose of education and better content of this channel.

Hi, at 6:20 just before you reviled the LED backlights you lifted out 3 items. The dark screen glass, diffusion sheet, translucent white plastic support sheet. The diffusion sheet, translucent white plastic support sheet can all be used by the hobbyist for projects around the house. The screen glass is a sandwich of 2 very thin outside panes and the middle pane contains Indium alloy. If the screen is ground down then the Indium could be refined out.

Just salvaged a 96 inch, must have acquired 150 new screws, some nice speakers, some led's, some wire, and some circuit board parts. and some really big sheets of plastic. lol.

I heard somewhere that the ribbon cables attaching the screen contain gold bond wires. I dont know for sure, but I collect them anyways. Good video

Yes some have gold on a ribbon cable,on some of them is not present, in this case there was no. Even if is silver is the amount is so small that it does not matter.

The part with the most pm content is the screen itself. Got a bit of rhodium and gold, good luck getting to it though. The LCD control board has a lot of gold per weight, but these are best scrapped for usable parts with metal being the byproduct.

Behind gold bonding vire in ic chips evrithing in electronic is a gold plated.But in old electronic that plating is thick and bring lot of gold,and on new is justa a flash plating and dont worth a shit.....

Valentin He scrapped the TV to show how it is done.. Also not sure where you are from but here in US you are not getting $40 for a defective tv... Hell here you would not even be able to give it away. Yes maybe I hold on to it and make more then $3 but if I keep holding to sale if I am scrapping I have 100 tv's and no space for more. But if I break down I have room for 1000's especially if I break them down to just powder.

Personally, I have no place to sell it for 10$, except for waste, and there is a price of 10-15 cents per kilo, as well as what will go after removing the board from it. I like the channel to be diversified, from refining, to scraping electronics, to the purchase of e-waste and much more, so it was not sory for me that I sometimes ruined some items that are normally i dint, insted I would try to sell im .

Extracting gold from a TV with faulty LEDs is like throwing money on the window and some nasty chemicals in the environment. The TV died because of it was cheap, of low quality and had improper repairs. You still would get more value for selling the working screen panel and the boards, or replacing all the LED stripes and selling it as a working TV.
