If you were asked how many terms there are from 1-5, realistically you’d say 5. It isn’t just the last term minus the first term, otherwise the answer would be that there are (5-1) 4 terms. So it’s 5-1+1=5 terms. Hope that helps

Tn = a + (n-1) (d) 196 = 35 +(n-1) (1) 161 = n - 1 n = 162

If I asked you tell me how many numbers there are from 1 to 10, if you say 10-1 that is 9. But that is not right. So we always say final number - original and then plus 1. So 10 - 1 + 1 = 10 numbers from 1 to 10
