Remember, as a child, you started by learning only one dialect's pronunciation - the pronunciation used by your family. Imagine how hard it would have been for you, how crazy it would have been, if your family had tried to teach you the phonetic systems of all dialects of your native language at the same time. So, now, instead, for starters, learn the phonetic system of only one Irish dialect so you don't drive yourself nuts. :-)

Hi, thanks so much for your lessons! Soooo useful! I' m currently learning Irish with Duolingo, but there are no explanations about anything. You have to figure it out . I'm French, more exactly Alsatian, and I find your language fascination, but quite difficult. So , thanks again for your clear explanations.
