Among the last lines the Professor says in the Finale, he says "Okay, I've modded the device to release a single huge anti-chronoton blast, it should rip us out of stasis, back to the instant before I conceived of the time button." meaning that Fry, Leela, Amy, Hermes, Zoidberg, Bender, Professor, and everyone else get reset moments before the time button gets invented, so they'll be in an infinite loop of time freezing and restarting back to that point. Kinda sad, they'll always reset back, unable to change the course of events. Fry will always break the time button, Fry and Leela will always grow old together frozen in time, the Professor will always come back and offer them a chance to go around again, which they will always take because they don't know they've done it before.

You know what, if any show deserved an ending, it had to be Futurama. I think Matt knew he really had a gem when he made Futurama. So instead of it being like The Simpsons, where the episodes would continue to become pointless as they go on, he decided it should end. And if you want Futurama to continue, wouldn't it just turn into The Simpsons?

8 seasons vs 26 seasons... Many mediocre shows get to go on on for way longer than 8 seasons and Futurama keeps getting cancelled just as it finds its stride... Since Matt Groening wants it back I'm hoping we can at least get a movie or something but I think Futurama would work perfectly as a Netflix original series. That's where everyone watches it
