I bought one earlier this year and I love it.Very easy to conceal carry and well worth the price.I handload my own bullets and they shoot well.At 18yds I hit a 6in plate 5 for 5 with no problem.For a snub nose thats not bad.I think its a great gun to own to plink with or self protection which nobody asks for.I have no problem not using the moon clips.I can easily remove the spent brass with my finger with no problem.Again a very well built gun.

Just a good backup / truck gun if you're a 9mm guy. Can be used without any clips. 4 out of 5 brass will fall out. One round always sticks. I suspect it's the same chamber. Maybe a little sanding & buffing will fix it. Right now it's our out of sight hidden home defense backup.

The 9mm is more effective than a 38 +P out of a snubbie.. and pretty much is close to a 357 out of a snubbie Also they’re alot of 9mm SD ammo that is engineered to function out of short barrels

Charter Arms makes revolvers chambered in 9mm, 40 S&W and .45 ACP that don't use moon clips. (Also I think in .380 ACP now?) S&W at one time made something similar but not any more. But to me, the big advantage of using moon clips is that loaded clips can be carried in your pocket and take up less space and reload the gun faster than using speed-loaders.

Moon clips by TK customs are great!

I used to own one of those. I found the moon clips would bend very easily which would essentially prevent me from closing the cylinder. I thought it was more trouble than it was worth. I don’t remember which manufacture but someone (S&W?) used to make a revolver in 9mm that didn’t need moon clips. Now that, would be something I would like to have. Another great video sir.

You are correct, the moon clips are a bit flimsy, and are not meant for constant usage.

I purchased a 905 last year, I've sent it back to Taurus 4 times for light primer strikes. Hopefully it will be fixed this time. I actually really like this revolver when it works.

I shot mine without the moonclips. It fired fine but getting the spent casings out was a hassle.

Would be great if they would make a rimmed 9 millimeter for the same price would take care of the moon clips 🤔

It will work with our moon clips... BUT you have to push out the spent casing one by one like the old cowboy guns

So I was wondering, can you load the cylinder with out moon-clips or u need to have that for sure ? And is it just for making it easier to load and re load ?
@poboyspecial Жыл бұрын
you can load them one at a time by hand without the moon clip and it will work... HOWEVER, extracting them is a pain without moon clips. You would have to push them out with a small rod from the front one at a time. Not recommended!

They are kinda hard to find, check your local dealer and ask them to find you one. When they do, have them notify you they received one. It may take several months to find it though... Happy hunting!

In the 21st century, revolvers are functionally obsolete. They were the dominant law enforcement handgun until the 1980s when the Glock 17 came to market. The snub nose or “detective special” has been around since the 1920s and was used as the standard concealed carry handgun of its time. Now we have a variety of sub and ultracompact autoloaders such as the Sig P365 series that dominate the market and have all but replaced the stubby. I bought a 905 out of curiosity and it horribly inaccurate at anything but up close and personal distances (15’ or less). With 9mm, all you get is a lot of muzzle blast, recoil, noise, and not enough barrel to stabilize the bullet. The 905 is more of a novelty or as you mentioned, an inexpensive practice round for those who are stuck in the revolver ecosystem.

I think it would also make a good backup gun paired with a 9mm semiautomatic pistol
@kennyturpin249 Жыл бұрын
I'll try to keep this short. This sounds like a very uneducated opinion. I actually do prefer magazine fed semi automatic sidearms.. however, the revolver platform is the most reliable by far. By the way you talk you obviously dont understand that any caliber of snubby is not meant for pinpoint accuracy. It is only popular for function reliability and concealment. If you cant practice with a 2 inch barrel and find a sweet spot that works for you, then maybe its not for you. My snub 38 and 9mm have never dissapointed me. I trust them more than my wife 🤣
@rbm6184 Жыл бұрын
@@kennyturpin249 Yeah he does not get it. Revolvers are not obsolete meaning not useful by a long shot. But revolvers are like Glocks, they are outdated but still useful. This guy does not get those advantages that you mentioned in addition to others over autoloaders. Some folks just don't want the hassles of an autoloader. Jams, round in the chamber, out of battery, mags, racking a slide, and so on. The biggest drawback of a revolver is capacity but capacity should not matter if the shooter is accurate enough and we are responsible for every round that leaves our gun with a lawyer attached to every bullet. Real world shooting cases by the statistics show that on average only two to three shots are fired to stop a threat. If there are multiple threats then revolvers can be reloaded with speed strips or speed loaders. Yes we need to use as many rounds as we need to stop threats. So carrying a revolver with two speed strip reloads the shooter has 18 rounds to stop threats and if that is not enough then the problem is not the pistol whether revolver or autoloader. In moon clip revolvers reload time can beat autoloader reload time and I have seen this before in competition matches. As was mentioned in the video, revolvers are not picky about the ammo they shoot but bad ammo won't shoot no matter what pistol is used. Regardless of revolver or autoloader the shooter must practice to be competent and proficient enough. I have three sisters and all of them prefer their revolvers over autoloaders. I also have plenty of autoloaders and I shoot them well but I shoot my revolvers better and prefer them over my autoloaders. Ten advantages of revolvers. Some of these may be subjective but they are still advantages. 1. Multi-chamber pistol (not single chamber) 2. Fixed barrel is more accurate provided the sights are zeroed 3. Rarely ever jams being more reliable if kept clean, maintained, and with proper ammo 4. More power with magnums 5. Multi-caliber 6. Safer with less negligent discharges 7. Ease of operation with no slide 8. Comfort of concealed carry 9. Legality of only six shots forces the shooter to be more accurate and responsible with ammo 10. Brass cases are self contained to save for reloading
