Hi there, from my understanding it is quite expensive for international students. I pay home-student fees as Im a UK citizen which is significantly less but it's still quite a lot too

영국 의대 관련 결례지만, 두 가지만 질문 드려도 될지 모르겠습니다. 영국 의대 다니면서, 혹시 미국으로 clerkship을 가도록 학교 차원에서 도와주는 것이 있을까요? (아니면 못가게 하나요?) foundation year 1, 2(NHS) 없이 졸업하고 바로 미국으로 residency하러 가는 선배들은 많이 없는지.... 다른 질문은, 혹시 학교에서 학부생들에게 research 참여 기회가 있을까요? 장려하는 분위기인가요? 아니면 학과공부에도 바빠서 실제 그렇게까지하는 친구들은 많이 없는지... 항상 영상 잘 보고 있습니다. 감사합니다!

영국 의대 다니면서 미국으로 가고싶다면 USMLE라는 시험을 따로 공부해서 봐야되요- 보통 foundation 1,2 끝나고 가구요 (영국 의사 자격증 얻기 위해). USMLE가 큰 투자와 시간이 들어가기 때문에 많은 학생/의사들이 하진 않지만 미국으로 가고싶은 확신이 있는 사람들은 이 길을 선택하죠. 학생들에게는 리서츠 기회는 엄청 많아요! intercalated bsc때 기회도 있고, 실습하면서도 pro-active하게 교수님들/의사선생님들 다가가면 충분히 할 수 있어요 :)

@@hayeon_01 리서치 기회가 많다고 해서 다행입니다. 하연님도 잘 아시겠지만, 사실 미국 레지던시를 하기위해서는 ecfmg certificate만 있으면 되니까, 굳이 GMC full registration이 필요가 없는데, 만약 미국에서 실패하고 복귀할 경우를 대비한 리스크때문에 foundation 1, 2 하나보네요. 학부때 임상실습때 미국에서 clerkship을 하면 참 좋은데, VLSO(이게 미국을 비롯한 여러 나라 의과대학들이 참여해서 서로 의대 실습 교환학생 하는 프로그램인데)에 거의 모든 유력한 나라들(아일랜드 의대들은 전부 포함... )이 다 참여하는데, 영국 의대들은 다 빠져있더라구요(바츠랑 어디 1군데만 참여...). 그래서 영국 의대들은 졸업생들이 더 나은 미국에서 수련하러 가는 것을 막기 위해서 (지금도 매년 엄청 많은 숫자들이 호주 등지로 빠져나가잖아요? NHS가 하도 엉망진창이라서), 방해(?)하나 싶어서 여쭤봤습니다. (예를 들어, 미국에서 clerkship을 도는 것은 니 능력으로 구하고 전혀 도움 줄 생각 없으며, 방학때만 요령껏 다녀오고, 학기 중에 미국 가는 것은 전혀 허락해줄 생각 없다... 뭐 이런 policy...)
