You can use multiple controllers if you connect them before booting Retroarch. I turn on my Wii U Pro Controller before booting Retroarch and it's properly binded as my second player controller.

Hi. I realize this is 3 years old. But I'm trying to play snes games on my wii u retroarch but they're playing at what seems like a super low frame rate. Everything has worked on nes and I have no idea what settings I need to fix this?

I know this comment is from 3 months ago, but figured I’d reply in case you or anyone that sees this is looking for an answer. You’ll want to turn the rewind feature off. The same thing happened to me. I was pretty disappointed because I enjoy being able to rewind for retro games.

Awesome content! I’m having an issue where when trying to set up a playlist, the system name only gives me the options to choose “content directory” or “custom”. It will not let me select from a list of systems as you have shown. Did I miss a step?

Hmm, that's odd. You can try updating the assets and core info files again. You will probably need to extract them manually on a computer after they download to the Wii U.

Might try one of the lighter weight shaders like crt-pi. Also does runahead work on the WiiU?

Wii U CPU and GPU are kinda weak for emulation so I wouldn't put much hope in runahead for most cores.
