A truly gorgeous car! I owned a 1968 AMX with smaller 290 v8, in the late 1970s and early 1980s. I wish I had kept it. Phenomenal cars. 😎👍

The last of the 2 seaters. The real AMX. After that, they were just a Javelin with the AMX badge. There must be so few of these left since the production run was so limited. Nice to see that this one was saved. AMCs are particularly challenging to restore and source parts for. A great piece of automotive history. These cars did really well on the Trans Am circuit back in the day. I've only seen one AMX in the last few years. A rare gem.

If I was in a position to reproduce a limited run of cars, the 70 AMX would be my first choice.Pretty much everything can be reproduced using a variety of materials and tools.Speedkores 68-70 composite/carbon Charger is a good example of what can be done today.

The restoration job on yours looks fantastic, great job. The color you picked really stands out with the Shadow Mask. Always liked AMX's, a friend and I spent three months going cross country in my 69. The 69 has the buckets that would lay back almost flat for sleeping in the car. Loved the "Tiger Skin" interior the car came with...... Thanks for sharing your car with us all.

Beautiful . I recommend you find someone who does restoration, fab work and have them section the front bumper to fit the car. This is over looked by a lot of restoration shops that insist the poor fitting bumpers are fine. Brand new front bumpers from AMC didn’t fit the car.Sectioning the front bumper makes a big difference in the look of the car..The original design called for the bumpers to fit into the front fender recesses .

I had bluelight blocker thingy on on my computer and that color looked very different. Anyways, the AMX is certainly the alternative muscle car, respect to people who love them tenderly. My old 68 AMX also had the little 290 with auti trans, but was still quite spry. I beat many 455 Trans Ams in short unofficial drag races, but they ate me on the highway. My AMX topped out at 104MPH, but got there PDQ! 😊 Funnest car I ever owned, I wish I still had it. Bought it used in 1978 for $900, from the first owner.

@@IfThisCarCouldTalk For years, not much. Rule of thumb is if a car was popular when produced, it is popular and therefore worth more now. That was never AMC. In the past couple years I have noticed a huge increase in interest in the AMX. Hemmings just picked the 68-70 AMX as one of their ten car picks for appreciation in the next year and beyond. Not too many years ago a very nice restored AMX could be purchased at Barrett-Jackson for around $35,000. Just saw one that auctioned recently that was $78,000. I can only estimate based on Hemmings valuations and recent auctions. The price is on the rise, but it is still not as expensive as big three muscle.
