Great tips! Thank you for sharing. Kindly share the clock positions for adequate cleaning. I find it difficult to access posteriors and sometimes mandibular anteriors too when the patient has limited mouth opening.

I believe that is a Dentsply Slimline Cavitron with a 30K insert? I also noticed the Adec Cascade delivery unit behind you. (I sell, install and repair dental equipment.) Why do Dentîsts cos so much??Why isn't there any dental insurance that actually covers true costs vs $1500 flat per year when it costs $750 to pull one tooth. If Dentists were more concerned with helping vs money they could help so many. My mom had her dentures stolen a year after we paid $4000 for them and now she has no teeth because we can't afford them and free or low cost charity dentists are overworked. UGGHHH

Dentists understand your concerns but you have to understand most dentists are not wealthy people. They graduate nowadays with $2500-$4000 per month interest bills on their loans and it can easily cost over $1 Million to buy a practice and all the required equipment. If dentists didn't charge what they do they would either go out of business, or they wouldn't make enough money to justify the 20-25 years of education it takes to become a dentist.

I think you're cheapening dentistry. It takes YEARS of school, time, money, exams, stress to become a dentist. A dentist graduates with a minimum of $200,000 in student loans. You don't think they deserve to charge for their knowledge and expertise? If you invested a lot of your life in a craft, you wouldn't want to be fairly compensated for it? Dentists do want to help, and thats why there are low cost clinics, but you have to realize that to help doesn't mean to give things away for free.

Mandy i’ve been building, selling and repairing dental offices and equipment for over 20 years. It’s amazing what these dentist have to go through and the cost of building out a new office. It’s like any other business, The price you pay for their service is all relative to what it cost to do business

its not the dentists who are in charge, its the insurance companies. it sucks cuz insurance companies have no knowledge on tx indications but are the ones deciding who gets coverage or not. my boss (a DDS) has had to stop working in network with insurance companies bc they werent paying her enough for the work she was doing (one time the paid her $8000 for over $20000 of services). they were pocketing all the money when it should be going to her bcuz shes the one using material and providing service. she would go out of business. insurance companies suck. hope your mom has found tx by now, best wishes

It was expensive for dentists prior to Covid, but now it’s worse. Gloves, masks, shields, Caviwipes, suction tips, air/water syringe tips, autoclave bags, prophy angles/paste, impression material, dental restorative materials, instruments, staff, lab fees, equipment maintenance, cost of practice (monthly loan), office supplies, heat, electric, taxes, patient home supplies, etc. Not to mention paying for their education. It all adds up. You can’t get it for free.
