As a fellow KZbinr you know there's no chance it was today 🤣 But actually about a month ago 😄 Thanks Lee, it did look good I'd like clear lines right up to the fuel rail, maybe I'll do it one day when I've got way too much time on my hands

Glad to see you have a victory on your birthday! And thanks for doing video of these "small" steps. I know it slows and complicates the process, but speaking as a viewer it is enormously helpful to have a KZbin video to watch before taking my car off the road for repair.

Happy birthday man! Yeah petrol fumes is no laughing matter! It doesn't get you high - just a cracking headache! I changed the intank sender/pump in my 240 this year and the period of time mucking around trying to contort the whole unit through the hole (without the float ball and the sock falling off) took too long, and the fumes were becoming overwhelming.
@Involvod2 жыл бұрын
I was worried about that but no headache fortunately, I think it was too stale for it. And I know what you mean it can be a real pain, I'm not looking forward to doing it on the 240 one bit 😬

I love Skandix, they literrally delivered me a big box of spare parts in just 2 and a half weeks to Argentina. IPD is also great, I believe Skandix supplies IPD for some parts. Great video! I hate messing with the car electronical ... still trying to get some bravery for the PCV system in my 240. I'm just too scare. Regards, Nacho.

Runs sweet! The one nice thing about a car that's been sat for ages is they aren't racking up miles, and with most Volvos now have moon miles on them! If there is one thing I miss about my terminally rotten GL it's the black over blue interior and tweed seats. My less rotten (but still featuring Flintstone's floors like yours!) GLE has the black dash and grey cloth seats out of a 940 and... Well. It 'aint no blue!
@Involvod2 жыл бұрын
That's very true, this one is a hair under 200k kilometres, I found the odometer plug plastic clip in the passenger floor well and because of how the previous owner was, I think he's probably wound the clock back or at least it wasn't working. But judging by the condition of it in a few key areas I really don't think it's a high mileage rig. I know what you mean about the grey cloth, at least they are just as extremely comfortable 😃

Oh I've replaced a few of those in my days. There were mainly 2 things I looked for whenever buying a used 700, 1, not too much rust present, 2, that the fuel sender unit had already been replaced. Don't know what they were thinking using iron ones..
@Involvod2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a good approach! I feel alot better now it's a mostly plastic one on there, along with a plastic tank, one area I definitely agree with cars moving from metal to plastics!

Access to the tank is not as simple on the saloon. Head up arse down. With removal of pump very awkward. Looked underneath and I decided that dropping the whole tank out was the solution. I was right 30 minutes later had it sitting on the ground. Access to pump and replacement easy as. Then tank back in with the help of a trolley Jack.

Superb video and really helpful. My 745 is identical to yours. I’m trying to source a new sender unit like the one you pulled out of the car in the first video, but struggling to find the correct one. Can I assume from your video that other sender units from the 7/900 series will fit, albeit with new hoses? Thanks once again for superb content

Thanks for the kind words! It is tricky finding the correct sender, I wouldn't guarantee that others will fit to be honest 😬
