In this video, which is a part of the series that I am going to upload soon, I am discussing what is a trademark, what are the uses of Trademark, should you obtain protection of your trademark by registering it.
In India Trademark Registration is not Mandatory, however there are certain advantages and benefits of Trademark registration that cannot be left undiscussed.
In this current Atmosphere of Startups, it is necessary for them to understand the various nuances of trademark registration.
In the other part of the video I will be discussing with the technicalities involved in registration of trademark and the procedure of registration Along with the Recent developments in Trademark Law.

Just a query: from your first example of 'paratha wali gaali' , the orignal vendor did not got his trademark registered but still his trademark is valid in his geographical location, that means he should be protected in that location.. then can he file a case against the similar paratha vendors that opened in the same area? If no then why?

GI is a community right. Trademark is not. In the present situation , Gi is not feasible as only a single person is concerned.

I am planning to bring down my ideas from paper to ground... A kind of start-up in rural area. I have to collaborate 2-3 other kind of works in that business which are not formally (acc. To current system) linked with that business. But I want to keep them mixed in final, though I would start one-by-one. I mean inclusive form. All are related to rural development. But the problem is that I don't know whether it would work or not (like many entrepreneurs). Should I apply for registration of business & it's trademark in starting/testing phase?
