Dennyt afc delete really wakes up the old ve pump. Did that to my truck and it feels great went from 23 psi to 32 psi on a h1c with 21cm exhaust housing. egts get a little toasty on the top end but very controllable. Love watching you build the 1st gen keep it up!!!

s o the afc deletes are more for pulling. They give you full fuel all the time. Kills spoil up.

that first gen sounds really good ,,,i am a big fan of cummins power ,, even though i am a GMC lover and have been a chevy guy since i started driving in 1990 ,,i'm a big fan of diesel conversions and have done several over the years ,,my most recent cummins conversion is a 1988 ford ranger that i dropped a 4BT into ,,motor came from a bread truck that i bought for parts I've also got 2 farmall tractors with 4BT conversions ,,super H and super M I've discovered another new thing that worked with my GAS truck too , and that's a Blaylock Switchblade VGT turbocharger I have one that i just installed on my F800 COE truck this started out as a barn find that i gave just $500 for the truck is a 1974 ford Cab over 800 series truck tractor ,,this is a short truck that is no longer than your first gen dodge cummins ,, guy sold it cause he couldn't get it to move kinda funny ,,dude got no idea what AIR BRAKES are ,,, i knew what was wrong the instant i tipped the cab up NO BELTS on the Air compressor ,,no problem i just plumbed a portable gas powered air compressor to the tank , poof now the brakes work and i drove it home ,, this was someone's hotrod project 20 years ago ,,and he had installed a Garett T4 turbo with a 66mm inlet housing ,,not near big enough for a 478 stroker adding the 88mm blaylock VGT made it a whole new beast , it spools FAST and makes that big block ford go like a scalded dog I just did a dyno pull with it on march 20th and it's putting 595HP at 5500 rpm and 680LB/ft to the rear wheels at 2800 the VGT gives it an odd torque curve,,,but it does awesome in a 1/4 mile 12.8 sec 1/4 mile pretty good for a 44 year old truck with a 9 speed trans and 455 gears,,, and a burnout creates a huge smoke show from 4x 12R-24.5 tires ,, sadly power braking is not possible cause the brakes are too strong ,Air brakes after all

So ive been shopping for a 1st gen to build up and lower for a street truck, will end up building some serious power. Curious whats your opinion on 2wd vs 4wd do you think it would make a difference as in a quicker truck being 4wd or not worth the extra parts to break and weight? Also i doubt i could lower it as much being 4wd. I see alot of decent 2wd trucks for sale tho

Thanks man! I would say my stg 2 pin was good for most people just the way it was, were gonna try and squeeze every little HP we can out of her, so I'm hoping with the longer screw they work well together.

LEMONADE STAND if youre getting way too much smoke at low rpm and low boost its too much fuel down low. If yiur not getting enough fuel up high it wont have any smoke at all. You should have a good haze at wide open

Random but I pressure washed my engine (I know dumb) and now it won’t start. I have an 03 dodge 2500 5.9 cummins. I’m getting a bunch of error codes. It turns on for 2 seconds then turns right off. I was wondering what you guys think the problem is and how can I fix it? Thanks

JokerAQ13 Just unplug the battery and let it sit for a full 24 hours. Let all of the water evaporate and try again. Hopefully you didn't already mess something up.

Check all your connections, and just like turtle2448thomas said unplug the battery and let the water dry up. Hope things work out. Maybe next time just use a little degreaser.

JokerAQ13 Pressure washing the engine isn't stupid. You just have to be careful what you spray and not spray it for to long. And properly drying everything off. I work at a detail shop where we pressure wash new and old engine bays everyday. Never an issue. Just get access to an air gun or leaf blower and blow dry it all off. You should be fine!

From what I remember he backed the preload all the way out so it doesn't get fuel until higher boost. I may have missed something but I have 5x18s and a single and mine lights way faster runs under 1300*

Ryan Driedger you have to remember his charger is a wacky size. And the starwheel being all the way up adds preload to let it fuel a little slower so it doesnt flood out the turbo with fuel before it lights.
