I fought a war and made way to victory but then because there are more modern fighters who didn't have to make the mistakes I did they are valued better than me. It doesn't work like that Php is the dad of them all Whether it's phython's django or node They used php's former downsides to make themselves better But in reality are they really better because new versions of php are as good and provides robust features instead of suffering to write algorithms for it For any PHP hater I just want to say Use the language extensively and you'll find the joy in it All the functions you get for specific purpose are just genius Keep it up

Ha Ha Ha, Good Joke. PHP is alive today because of Laravel, otherwise it's dead, and one of the worst programming languages ever made. I left PHP and started JS and Python and never looked back. What can you do from PHP ? Just Web ? Right From JS and Python, I can do Web, Mobile, MCUs, IoTs and more PHP sucks, and it will suck always. #TellTheTruth

Actually, it does suck at its intended purpose. Its slow beyond slow. Why is it so popular? Wordpress and people who want a website but have zero desire to learn how to make websites. Legacy code that companies dont want to pay to update to a better language. Thats it. Elixir and Golang do all that PHP can do, plus more, significantly faster and with less hardware required.

Thank you Rasmus for this video they published here. Nice job done with php 7. On the conference you wrong only a small thing: that script that's show how many memory you use for creation of that array is buggy.(the result isn't 6 megabytes) the correct script is: here on xampp,windows 10 ,intel core 6500 U ,i had "mem usage:4194304" anyway , thanks again for php 7 , the tool that mankind needed! I am very disappointed that tv news, newspapers are full of BUNGA - BUNGA and not with related news about someone like you! Best regards, Tiganus Constantin Razvan

Well, seriously it was very interesting and I'm gonna move to PHP 7 for sure. But still, wanted to comment that what he's telling about saving planets it's not real. I mean, okay now if I move to PHP 7 I can turn off 75% of my servers right after upgrading it. But since I'll have a more powerful language I will improve my APP and I will need to turn on again these 75% of my servers. That's how the world works, you need less? No worries, you will do more and you will still need more. Time ago I was like: WTF??!?! 8GB of memory in my phone? Holy crap, I don't even need 1GB. But now I need 128GB, at least.
