He is one of the few teachers that has the ability to research and teach. He truly understands the Bible and accomplishes what many congregations can't.

Thank you for your comment and your heart, Teddy, The ultimate responsibility is still on us to test what we hear or are taught, by His Word. In order to test everything, we have to have a good knowledge of the Original Scriptures.

This is good. Always remember studying and meditating on God's Word must bring about radical , transformational changes in our lives -our character, our attitude, our vision, our mission on earth, our walk with the LORD, our prayer life, our relationship with the LORD and others around us, etc. to prepare us to meet the LORD Jesus Christ who will return soon.

Thank you Jeff. I am finally getting into the whole Truth of God's Word, because the church has been so long divorced from Israel that we do not know the back ground of our own Bible, no matter if we have the whole thing memorized. Can't banish cold from the cream and still call it "ice-cream" or understand "ice-cream", if that makes any sense.

When a person says two totally different things about the same issue it FORCES one to pick and choose. In my opinion, if it goes against the original Word ( the OT ), one would be so much better off not following it.

Can someone shed some light as to why they are called old and New Testament ? Why not firs covenant and second covenant? Thanks

The Vulgate (Latin Bible) was translated by Jerome in the 4th Century. The Hebrew books, what is called "Old Testament" in modern Bibles, were translated into Koine Greek, called the Septuagint, a few centuries before the Messiah's birth, and hence existed Greek and Hebrew versions of the same text by the time of Y'shua. Some of the Hebrew scriptures were lost in the destruction of the Temple in AD 70. When Jerome translated to Latin, he used both Hebrew and Greek versions, and used Greek versions for the lost Hebrew Texts. The most influential contributors to this division into "Old" and "New" were such figures as Justin Martyr (2nd century AD), Marcion (2nd century AD), and of course Constantine (2nd and 3rd centuries AD) and Augustine (4th century AD). In my words (jhillaudio), the Word of YHWH never gets old!

So you are saying that Paul’s epistles weren’t considered holy scripture? I disagree..... Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. (2 Pet. 3:14-16 KJV) Peter obviously believed they were God breathed. Ref 2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete and equipped for every good work.

HesintheTaNaK I think Tom said "Paul wouldn't consider his own letters as Scripture (TaNaK)". If I remember correctly.
