Regarding the Sultan of Brunei, the people are crazy loyal, and he actually pretty chill guy. He usually shows up buying food on stalls around the capital and visiting people randomly, just like his peers around the Southeast Asia. Free healthcare and Free Education and to some point, free electricity (The story is quite long lol) By the way, I saw the whole camera goes on the Facebook Marketplace on my country (Next door to Brunei, Malaysia) for like 100k Ringgit full body with lens. A lot of Jawi Inscription alongside the Royal Seal. I shat myself.

Leica has about 2000 employees today, back then it was probably about half that. So you have maybe 300 to 400 people working in the production line making cameras. There are a few different model lines, so let‘s say you have 100 employees working on that model. I say they can make this order in a week or two. Just because it is handmade does not mean they do not have an efficient production plan in place.

@@Gmododo it’s gold plating … all components are just put into a bath before assembly. Leica probably had such baths from prior orders. The custom engravings might have been the most time consuming part, I don’t know if they were all made by hand.
