CORRECTION: I was incorrect about something I stated in the video. I did NOT get charged for the miscut cards. PSA does not charge you if they deem a card has been miscut from the factory.

I really liked this format. As someone who is getting back into the hobby and grading for the first time these types of videos are extremely helpful to me. I personally love SGC holders so I grade mine with them usually at least for my PC but when PSA takes your money and doesn’t grade the card it makes me feel even better going with sgc

I like the addition of the "added value" segment . It gives a realistic view of getting cards graded. most PSA unboxing videos show the final value and mislead everyone showing the final value as all profit. Not everyone can get a card straight from a pack , so they have to pay market value and up.

Agree, PSA shouldn't charge for no grade (or at least give you credit) and if they are going to upcharge they should give back credit (if not full refund) for cards that don't grade as well as one would expect for the service level.

I'm not much of a seller of cards, definitely more of a collector - more often than not, my purchases relating to cards are a loss leading exercise I know full well I'm entering but love it all the same :) this being said, really enjoyed the financial aspect at the end, with the Ronaldo winner it obviously paints a beautiful picture! Congrats mate :)

Hey Chris, I’ve mentioned this in your comments before but you really should NOT be getting charged for MISCUT OR MINSIZERQ, as these are factory issues that PSA recognizes at no cost. Double check the invoice you receive, yes you are out the shipping, but not a grading fee. 😎 I really enjoyed the vintage variety and breakdown, great video.

Was going to say the same, you should not have been invoiced for miscuts. Those are considered "no cost no slab". If you were charged, you should challenge that with PSA. That would not be standard to be charged for those.

Thank you for adding prices. So we know what we're looking at. Regarding the Altered/fees. PSA has done their due diligence to "catch" the issues so on their end they have paid employees etc. and deserve compensation. Do you ever crack slabs and resubmitt or do you lose profit margin and its not worth it?

I love all your videos including the high and low rollers. There is a slight flaw in the logic on a couple of points. The added value does not include the ebay fees or consignment fees (if you go that route to sell) and it does not include the time to process, list and ship out. The other slight flaw is the reason why PSA still charges is because they have human costs associated with receiving the item, then someone to review the item and determine if the item can be graded and then shipped back out. There are labor costs associated whether or not a grade is put on that item. I don't love it either but that is likely the reason.

Cards are easier to sell especially online, you can't tell exactly how good the card is from a picture so it might look like a 7 but is a 5. Plus you don't have to wait to ship and get the cards back from PSA.

I really enjoy your videos, especially ones that shows grading submissions such as this one. You have an excellent understanding for the grading and what a card may or may not grade, with one exception - Centering. I've noticed a few times you've mentioned the centering on the back of a card being off a bit when discussing reasons why a card may have received a specific grade. Just a reminder, that according to PSA's standards, back centering doesn't matter at all for grades 1-9. The only standard is the back must be at least 90/10. If less than that they can label a card miscut (though I've actually seen them be very generous on that), Anything above 90/10 doesn't affect the grade at all. PSA 10's must be 75/25 on the back, so the standard is a little bit higher there, but 75/25 will seem off center to most and 90/10 is darned near ugly, yet it's good enough for a 9 if all else is good with the card. One other side note, on the 2 cards that didn't grade. I know PSA seems to have changed a bit, but I have a card that pre-pandemic got the same miscut grade. Had a slight diamond cut, but that hasn't been an issue in the past. I did re-sub it and it came back an 8, which is what I expected the first time. A slight diamond cut should not equate to a miscut. Not sure if it is worth re-subbing, but those cards it may be worth it to try since PSA has come down on prices. Again, love the channel, thanks!

Wow! KA BOOOOM! That one sure gave your order a nice KICK. Nice thing after those Mantles missed the cut. All puns aside, I just want to applaud the way that you handled getting brushed back once, and then took that hard one in the arm, and simply took your base not even glancing at the pitcher (PSA), even with him jawing at you on your way to first (PSA charging for those two). Super classy

Back in the day, a few years before the pandemic lockdown, if PSA declined to grade a card, they would at least give you a credit toward your next order. This happened to me. This rapacious attitude of charging even when refusing to grade, plus many other unconscionable fee issues, has made me one of the many folks disillusioned with this outfit as one of the worst pandemic profiteers.

My brother, friend, and I just submitted about a 100 cards combined over the last 3 months. 2 cards weren’t graded. We were able to get a 60.00 credit for the non-graded cards towards are next submission. 1 card was a Joey Bosa error card and the other was a Derek Jeter Foil card they thought might have been trimmed or altered. So, please follow up with them and hopefully they will give you a credit for not grading the cards you submitted
