shes so convinced that shes right. this is basically child abuse and it makes me so mad. instead of resolving this on the show itself maybe they should consult social services? she's an unfit mother. its agonizing

Presenter: Do you make your son work too? Mum: No, he’s in Highschool. Honestly this made me very upset for the girl, I’m not sure what country it is but it’s the same for most of Asia especially in Japan and Korea for the male children to be favoured. I feel a lot of empathy for this young girl, her future is more than working in a salon. Her mother is exploiting her own daughter for cheap labour, childhood are our most vulnerable and important years. Many mental traumas we gave during adulthood stem for childhood. Your daughter has all the time to be an adult when the time comes, but she only has 19 years of being a teen, or as some may even say 18. Let her be a child, let her be a teen because it’s very limited compared to adulthood and you only get one experience. She needs to be mixing with her peers, going to eat out with her friends and going to the park and not worrying about only have an hour or two to spend with them, and even then she might not go out with her friends altogether since she is so tired from being worked. I hope the daughter put her foot down, but I really doubt it in Asian societies. South Korea has especially come a long way do not get me wrong, but they still have major issues with gender, plastic surgery, and overworked idols. “She can’t win against me” I can’t believe the words coming out this “mother’s” mouth. Families shouldn’t be competing it’s extremely toxic and needs to STOP. What is this? A game of who deserves more pity? I used to have the same with my mother but under different context, she used to compete with my body and say things like “My waist is really small, but you have broader shoulders like Amanda (her sister)” and it’s a very harmful environment for young girls to deal with any competing whether it be with body, or pity etc My heart goes out to her! ❤️

this woman acts as if her and her daughter are equals. yes, you do have it harder than her, thats how its supposed to BE. you're the mom and you're supposed to raise her and offer her a stable home and a fun childhood so that she grows up well before she goes off on her own. this made me so mad bc how is she going to expect her young daughter to do all the things she does, on top of all the household chores, AND do well in school and study as well? that lady is sitting on her ass watching TV while she works her daughter like a slave. 100% not okay and the fact that she's laughing tells me that she doesn't understand the severity of the situation.

I'm seeing all sorts of red flags with this woman. The biggest ones probably being that she sees her own problems as more important than her children's problems ("menopause beats puberty"), and she feels like her daughter is somehow competition ("she can't win against me"). As someone who grew up with an abusive parent, and has been in multiple abusive friendships, these are things that make me yell at everyone to stay as far away from this woman as possible.

THE BAFF My mum for example. I moved at 18... now I'm great ...I just miss other people from my family ... Because I'm far away. She used to make me pay clothes and food with the money I was making as a child selling handcraft and other things .. plus cleaning the house and so on ... For example if I broke something I had to give her the money. I decided I would be better by myself since at that point I was sustaining myself.

The mom basically makes her daughter work because getting someone else would mean she had to pay them at least minimum wage. She's obviously being manipulative in her twisting the truth and claiming to be the victim. The daughter is clearly scared of her. The mom is forcing far too much work on the daughter (not to mention the bs of not forcing the sons to have a share in the work) while being idle. This maybe because she wasn't allowed to work when she was younger and isn't used to having to do work but it's still unacceptable behaviour. And she then controls her kids from going out? Someone please get this woman some help and give these kids some proper care

When i watched this i accidentally cursed this "so called mom" and my mom heard that and scolded me for calling a elder woman like that and i showed her the video then my mother started cursing her and said i don't think you were wrong.. lol.I felt my mother is one of the most beautiful and strong, independent woman i have ever seen.. she is a single parent who take care of me. She don't even allow me to go for part time job even when i insisted because she thinks it affects my studies. I am happy and proud of her. I realised how lucky i am to have a helping & loving mom when i saw this video. I am scared for that girl, i know my comment is late, but still.i wish they show a video of her present life

I'm not sure you know all the dirty details of being a trainee. While not every company is like this, trainees many times becomes salves. Their pay is in their housing, food, and training. By contract, the company sets an amount of money for living and training costs and takes it out of the pay. Many times, trainees work to the bone to make it as an idol in very poor conditions for over 10 years. Then, even when they make it, they don't see their fairs share. The company takes more out of their pay for costumes, stages, and concert costs. Only if you're the top top names can you become rich as an idol. That's why so many singers try to make it as an actor. Even actors are overworked, but that's a different topic. This is a good article to go into more detail. www.eatyourkimchi.com/kpop-slave-contracts/

"i do more than what she does so she shouldnt complain" you're SUPPOSED to do more than her. you're her mom AND more than twenty years older than her. are you saying kids and old adults should be doing the same things? you can't have a child without expecting to help them out with simple things like buying them school supplies.

I hate when young women go through puberty and people love to say this is the phase when they start complaining about everything, which is false. they are growing up so as they are seeing things differently some will start to voice their concerns of what they do and do not like. therefore this young girl is valid in her complaints. i hate when people make it sound like young women whine for no reason when her mother an older woman is mean asf. how she treats her daughter is the exact reason why children would run away, be depressed & possibly attempt/commit suicide.

what the fuuck..? in Germany where I live, the girl would be taken away from the mother by the government immediately! and the mother would probably end up in jail or something. this is slavery. I think it's important that kids help their parents a bit with something like doing the dishes or doing the laundry or walking the dog, but THIS is nothing compared to what is good for a kid. her mom is not only distroying her free time, but also their relationship, the girls social life, her body (for example the chemicals) and probably also her school career. parenting done great....😒 that girl will leave her home as soon as she can and never ever come back. (hopefully)

Nefi Vardou she will leave for sure and probably her mother won't care about it. Unfortunately she will have a much harder time doing everything by herself ...and without high school grades.

@@sanaisgay1495 they aren't her brothers.. they are the regular customers at the mother's salon.. The girl is shown telling in the complete episode video that her dad and brother refused to come since it's only her problem. That's what she told :( one sorry excuse of a brother honestly!

no, they don't, this is my life story, the only exception is that my dad would have beat me too if I didn't work or play. my sisters had a maid to work for them and they were always taking my parent's side.

The laws in S.Korea are so old, if this happened in Europe or USA, the child could get an emancipation and the mother would go to jail. I know that she's her mother, but in our actual society this things cannot be tolerated anymore, she doesn't see her child as a mother, she sees her child as a worker, and she has the view that her child has to return all her efforts of growing her working free for her. Such a disgusting mother, when the daughter will hit 19, I don't think that she'll be kind to her mother, and she'll regret it for being such a jerk to her self children. Or maybe not and she'll just continue his hair salon perm business, and forget about her. I'm so sorry for this children... The authorities should do something about it...

Am I the only one wondering how she can study correctly, focus on her schoolwork and get good grades while doing all this work ? she is fifteen, she is supposed to study hard, not to spend all her time working like an underpaid exploited employee ! I am going to be a mother and I certainly would never ask my children to do that, especially at an age when they are supposed to study.

If she will have her daughter work in their salon she should have her sons work in there too. It's bad enough that the daughter do all of the works from their salon to their home -- being forbade to hang out with friends, be a teenager and enjoy her youth was worst. Bad parenting, look at the daughter, she's too skinny, the food she ate went down fast bcos she has to 'work' and do the household. It's really bad when a kid started helping a parent and be exploited --then blamed for volunteering.

No fun and only work really can damage a kid mentally. Theyre not like adults. & theres a reason y child labor is illegal. also Its sad tht her friends dnt even ask her out as often anymore bc they alrdy know she cnt go. As someone who experienced this herself (not to the girl's extent but) its rlly stressful, sad & lonely (especially at a young age) The girl seems like a genuine kind kid (most kids these days dnt do shit to help ik bc I have younger siblings myself) not only tht but I feel like the mom is pretty biased. I mean, the brother doesnt even help @ all?? & hes the older sibling so tf
