I can't begin to imagine how you go about planning for builds like this, amazing work

Fiddling around, and positioning gears and axles until it kinda makes sense :)

lego, the ultimate medium for trial and error. there are mechanical engineers who use lego for rapid prototyping an idea before they muck about with CAD.

imagine asking someone for the time and they whip this outta their pocket

Just amazing, so incredibly complex and creative

This is awesome! I know clocks are complex but this definitely takes the cake. Wonderful mechanical work!

Thank you :)

Ah so that’s why clocks have an escapement mechanism. It makes it so the clock works on something precise like a swinging pendulum instead of variable motors or springs.

Yep, exactly

Add a mechanical rpm controller (aka flywheel with extra features) to this thing so it works consistently

cant wait to see the other options to power this. how cool would it be to have this clock on your wall powered by gravity.

Lego should hire you

Make it to a mechanical clock with escapement and pendulum

I personally noticed the 2:1 ratio between the 24T and round beveled 12T gears is extremely grindy. It is a lot more noticable if you were to enclose the gears on either end of the axis they rotate on between two technic pieces (lke if you wanted it for high torque, so they dont push away from each other) instead of just one end. Using the new non-beveled blue 12T gear instead is a lot smoother. Just a tip.

Insane! Are you just constantly disassembling segments as you go along or do you have an encyclopedic memory for how parts fit together?
@in1Күн бұрын
The worst of both worlds. Just trying around with axles and gears until it's kinda compact

Tank you very much for your video I have been waiting for it impatiently since then. Sorry if my english is not very good i'm french

Great, but makes absolutely no sense :) Probably that's why I love it :D
