This is a great video and definitely one to do in the coming months. Many thanks for taking the time to record it and sharing the commentary.

Really nice route, will certainly be trying it! We do a nice loop from Carsington that uses the high peak trail and Tissington trail too - so much good riding to be had around here
@cyclingn8Күн бұрын
It’s a great area for riding, I do want to give the high peak trail a go too. Thanks for watching!

Great to see Mappleton St Mary’s there too - got married there!!!

What a lovely spot for a wedding, a very pretty little church!

@ it was amazing! 11 years ago now, I used to work in Ashbourne, so had a soft spot for Mappleton village

Just a super nice video. Very interesting historical info. I love cycling the canals here in Ireland but we don’t have anything like the routes you have. I’d just love to ride this on my eMTB, maybe next summer.
@cyclingn8Күн бұрын
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video. We are lucky to have many disused rail lines for cycling over here, not a bad canal network either. Thanks for watching!

Probably more like 33 miles by the time you include all the pedalling back for your camera! That's a lovely route, thanks very much for the tour and for taking the time to record, edit it and share it.

Yes filming always ads on a bit more mileage but glad it’s appreciated and you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for posting this superb route. I rode up and down the Tissington Trail last summer when I was returning from a cycling event. Cant wait to get back to the area next summer to explore more of these dreamy tracks! Thanks again.

You’re welcome, glad you enjoyed it! I will back when it gets a little warmer, some other trails I have to try out. Thanks for watching!

Nice video of beautiful easy route. I actually rode Tissington Trail and High Peaks trail loop from Ashbourne last week. It’s also a lovely loop you can do, 60km and actually less climbing for you, and includes Carsington Reservoir. I will say though it was also a thick foggy day when I rode it too. thanks for sharing your video

I do want to go back and ride that route as it’s quite a popular one, such a lovely area for riding! Thanks for watching!

Thanks, my favourite area for riding 🥳I usually do a route involving the three main trails. Starting in reverse to this (Waterhouses via Ilam and Calton), up the Manifold Trail to Hartington, join the Tissington Trail to Parsley Hay (great cafe and view), along the High Peak Trail to Middleton Top and back to the Tissington Trail/Mappleton via Carsington reservoir and Bradbourne :)

It’s such a nice area for cycling. I will be back, but maybe when it’s a bit warmer, I definitely want to try the high peak trail. Thanks for watching!

Love these trails. If you feel you’ve earned a pub lunch, stay on the Tissington past Parsley Hay to Hurdlow and the Royal Oak, which has great food and beer!
@cyclingn84 күн бұрын
I want to go back and ride the whole trail, and try the high peak trail too so might give that a go. Thanks for watching!
@steve-r-collier3 күн бұрын
i camped at the royal oak last couple of weeks ago in the snow..i can confirm the beer is brilliant[abbeydale] but like most pubs in the area the food can be abit expensive if you live on state pension

7:17 As you leave Alsop station car park there's a small dip in the trail. A tunnel used to run under the track for passenger access to Alsop en le Dale village

That is the sort of nugget of information I love, thanks for sharing, and thanks for watching!
@altern8tive4 күн бұрын
The same for me too. The slightly staggered bridge crossing at Back Lane is the high point on the Tissington, there's also an accessible signal box at Hartington station car park and Parsley Hay is where the single track with passing loops from Ashbourne became a double-track line into Buxton, on a satellite view you can see a small section north of Parsley where the track bed was re-routed to avoid a tighter radius curve.
@cyclingn84 күн бұрын
I’ve cycled as far as Hartington before, really enjoyed the looking at the signal box there. Will have to do the whole trail at some point at check out these other bits!

It will be great when they start the project to link the Tissington, Monsal and High peak trails.

Thanks for sharing, very informative 👍 plus, as a fellow vlogger: it's great to watch someone who talks even more than I do😅
@cyclingn84 күн бұрын
My friends would say I’m the quiet one so maybe I get all my talking out on my videos lol. Glad you found it informative and thanks for watching!
At about 3 minutes the small brick building would probably have been a refuge / store hut for the permanent way gang.
@cyclingn84 күн бұрын
Thank you! The fact is has no windows is probably a good clue it wasn’t a signal box. Thanks for watching!

Thats a good route . Is it Ok to follow using OS maps.
@cyclingn84 күн бұрын
The stretch between Biggin and Hulme end has a few twists and turns but it is signposted as it’s part of the national cycle network, so with an OS map as well you could manage it. Thanks for watching!

Another great video on pretty familiar territory to me. Won't be tackling those hills anytime soon though! I recently posted a rather less athletic video of the Manifold Trail: kzbin.info/www/bejne/inmudaRmpdCNY68si=0ssnVeN7cd_htFyv

The last climb was a tough one! But yeah you can enjoy each trail on its own and avoid the hills. Thanks for watching!
