That man is good. This is the kind of coverage we want in Chess. Unsung Heroes.

I was an undergrad at NYU, it was my first time in New York, and I literally knew no one. I was a kid with a dream, that loved chess and stumbled upon this place. To my surprise I was welcomed with open arms, played chess for hours, and eventually brought my friends into this place. I always loved playing chess, and this was one of the first places that felt like home. Over the years I’ve met so many different types of people here from Jane Street traders, artists, students, engineers, and dancers. It’s truly an amazing experience. You never know what’ll happen when you visit, but it’ll always leave you feeling happy. Once a friend and I helped the person working at the front desk with a math olympiad problem, It was awesome! This place truly is a forum. I’m very thankful that a place like this exists in the world.

Chess Forum will remind me of Chessagan, my son that was born in 22nd of December 1995. May this enterprise, edutainment and energetic forum for chess lovers grow and expand to be one of it's best in history! Joachim Huang from Bandung, Indonesia.

I visited the Chess Forum often - I actually bought my very first board and pieces from there! It was the Lotus board with classical tournament pieces, I went with my girlfriend. The clerk who is behind the counter is a very chill guy who has all the passion in the world for chess I highly recommend this place!

This person really feels life. I felt like going in those classical era of renaissance or Plato era or something like that. This was not an interview, rather a poetry.

I visited the Forum when I went to NYC this summer. Unfortunately, the place is not well kept. A couple of people showed up and asked me to play which I thought was nice. But overall, the place is too ran down for me to recommend. Either way, its so nice that you take the time to cover all these unique places while in NYC for those that haven't been there. Thank you Sagar!

I have many memories of hanging out in the back in a smoke filled room playing 5 min chess with regulars and the hustlers. Lots of vintage chess photography and memorabilia. Cool and historical.

At 13:40 when the guy says he’s glad that chess has no money, no celebrity status, no coverage and that he prefers it that way because it’s a game for intellectuals… I know Sagar couldn’t have disagreed more with him. But sagar being the gentleman that he is, he just simply said “nice 😊”
