People like Arundati need to be supported and encouraged. A leather alternative is good. Since it is agro based, someone should approach farmers to start working on increasing the supply of raw materials. Two countries have cornered the market as of now. I am sure agriculture universities can research farming pineapple, cactus and cork , to break the monopoly market.

Supply of raw materials isnt a problem. The tech to manufacture this is patented and there is one guy in the world who makes it. Second problem, customers dont want to buy this as the designs are not good and material doesnt feel premium. Making sustainable products while good for environment isnt profitable. Like Solar energy took time to take off, Some of these solutions will too

See.... Investors invest.... They don't help and are not going to do charity for a good cause. Secondly, when u said 30 years back ... then that means in the 1990's .... India itself introduced its New Economic Reforms in 1991 and started thinking in a more monetary capitalistic way for growth instead of the earlier failed communist/socialist approach.... So in those times for investors to offer u 30k (today's value above a lakh) I think was quite generous..... Investors themselves were quite early and new at the time Lastly, india still is a third world country.... And abroad means u r referring to first world countries where there is much more money.... So their attitude and thought process will be completely different...... Also, if you notice, the sharks are often saying that one needs to be a good "hustler" and know how to hustle..... Even being "sharks" And having 600-800cr net worth.... They still are and believe in being cheap roadside hustler mentality..... This is still not matured into the honourable or classy standards of the first world

Last time tune kab ek business khada kiya hai aur endless presentation di hai to raise money in front of VCs, Angels, Sharks and on national TV....repeatedly, raised funds, grown the business, not slept for 2-3+ yrs before business takes off, hired and motived a team, managed cost, explored partnerships, travelled nonstop, optimized supply chains, managed business finance, collabration, marketing, ads etc.....
