One of the largest sugar manufacturers in the UK is using 2G technology to produce electicity and heat. Two gas engine modules with electrical power capacities of 2.8 MW and 2.2 MW are installed within a container. The CHP plants are operating with biogas, which is provided by a nearby biogas plant. The biogas plant uses the residual pressed sugar pulp from the sugar production to produce the biogas.
