Fun video. Thanks. Regarding price… it’s competitive against a Model Y LR, though a bit smaller and a less good load carrier. My Model Y is also firm riding. Leasing prices will be key, I imagine.

Great review Tim! They'd have to put the 9X8 into production before I'd think of spending £50k on a Peugeot though.

The new Scenic does 370 miles, has better tech, looks nicer all round and is 5-7k cheaper. This is coming from someone who has driven a 3008 GT for past 3yrs and test driven and looked around the new E3008 lots of times recently. I have opted for the Renault Scenic (Alpine version) either way it seems like the French have upped their game massively in recent years Also no heat pump in a £50k car is wild. The Scenic does

Apples, oranges. Scenic is good, but much smaller.
@mrm51834 ай бұрын
@@eds4743 Not apples & oranges at all. They are rivals plus I’m currently in a 2021 3008 so it’s a car I know inside out. But when you say the Scenic is smaller what do you mean exactly? The Scenic has way more room/leg space in the back seats and a bigger boot. For me that is the “bigger” that’s most important not the fact it’s like 7cm longer on the outside and few centimetres taller

If you need a family SUV in EV flavour, get a Scenic E-Tech. Much better value, longer range, better spec and a hell of a lot lighter.

Does the sunroof open and have a real sun blind on the scenic or is it a cheap panoramic roof which heats the car like mad...or one of these fake built in screen blinds😅

I tried the version with 19" wheels and thought the ride was much more compliant, but regardless of wheel size I still think it's smoother than my current Model Y, which is my biggest complaint about that car. The GT version with 19" wheels and AWD is what I'm awaiting for.

Suspect there will be the usual 25% discount off list when the dealers start to get themselves organised, see the current pricing for E2008 & E308 as examples. Why Stellantis can't put a realistic list price from the start is baffling, particularly when their current approach means the car will be subject to luxury uplift for VED. They appear to be inviting the chinese brands to come and eat their lunch, SAIC, BYD & Ora must be delighted that the EU manufacturers are so inept.

We are going to Gridserve Braintree to test drive a Renault Scenic e-Tech at the weekend. On paper, and in the reviews I have watched, it looks like that BEV is a better option than the e-3008

The price new is a bit harsh.... bear in mind the £35,000 petrol model will be dreadful at 1.2Ltr and by 50,000 miles it will be shot. However, get this EV at 1 or 2yrs old and it will be very much affordable with many trouble free years left in it.
@bernarddsilva63226 ай бұрын
My approach too.
@DrMoorehen5 ай бұрын
Maybe....but folks will start to be wary of this approach....as when the batteries die out....they will take 1000's to replace ....so cheaper to scrap this junk
@mikadavies6605 ай бұрын
@DrMoorehen Interesting thought and 100% relevant 5 years ago when batteries were 50,000 to 150,000 miles.... However, take a moment to update yourself and you will see that batteries are 500,000 miles and the 2025 packs are 1 million miles. Add in the simple fact that they WERE £thousands and have dropped 50% in 2023 and again 50% in 2024. Tesla battery pack in now $3,600...!!

Dear Tim, love your enthusiasim but frankly the price of ALL EVs is ridiculous and the technology is not really for 'prime time', Buying an older ICE or 'self charging hybrid' makes most sense for a market where something like over 80% of us buy second hand and not new. This means that most of us will be looking at +3 year old that have just come out of lease with company/fleet users and rich people so consider reviewing cars like that. Keep the nonsense coming :) Oh, "Le Tim est stinky" - yeah I failed French too.

@jandmath EVs are made in China or all Chinese made parts because they went all in on EVs while we stuck with ICE. Our batteries and drive train components are all chinese made unlike ICE stuff which were forged in Europe.... in other words, we're fucked.
