VR Videos, 4k videos, and 3D Videos, for use in Oculus Gear VR, that and doing slo-mo videos of my fish can take up a few gigs of space. And since I work 12 hours a day 5 days a week with a lot of downtime, I load up entire TV series onto the phone and stream them onto a larger monitor at work, plus I got windows 10 installed onto my S9+ for when I use the the DeX Pad and 50 gig of music.

I always go for the higher storage variant too. I’m currently using a 128 GB iPhone 6s Plus. I was contemplating on getting the 2018 iPhone, whatever it’s gonna be called. I remember when ram check was 64kb and floppy only held 256kb. You could buy HD. HD meant High Density not Hard Drive. Back then 20MB c: drive would mean that you won't have to swap floppy. And some sizable game came in 5 to 6 disc pack.

I almost always get the biggest storage option available for a couple reasons. 1) I never want to run out of space again (like when I had to get a 16gb iPad 2 because it was the only option available on launch day. Not having enough storage totally ruined the experience for that device as I couldn’t fit all my necessary apps without constantly deleting and reinstalling things, UGH!. 2) I don’t sell my old devices. I pass them down to family members. The kids always need a lot of storage for their games, so, even if I don’t use the storage myself. It will eventually come in handy whenever it gets passed down.

You guys should do yourselves a favor and fill it up at least once and make sure that the memory is still readable. Even though it may correctly display the capacity that doesn't mean that the OS supports it. If the OS doesn't support it, as you store over the OS maximum it'll wrap around and begin writing at the beginning of the chip overwriting all of the OS partitioning data and directory - or whatever the OS is using that area of the memory for and that could turn real ugly real fast.

My face is the antidote: What happens when the maximum is reached depends on the programming, but let's say they're using 8 bits to hold the gigabyte value (max 255 + 0 makes 256 - the programmers in the crowd will know what I mean here), assuming a sequential write the OS may increment that number every time it fills a gigabyte, and uses that number to keep track of which gigabyte it's writing to. After the 8 bits reach 255 the number will turn over to 0000 and with the OS using that number to keep track of where it's writing guess what happens.
