In 1960, then-30 year old Pat Robertson founded the Christian Broadcasting Network when he purchased a secular TV Station in Virginia, WTOV-TV. CBN's first broadcast was in October 1961 as The 700 Club telethon occurred in 1963, then it became a Daily program in 1966, first as a religious talk show, then as a News Magazine show

18 years later in 1994, after The 700 Club debuted on GMA 7 in the Philippines in 1976, establishing a Philippine-based Christian media network named Christian Broadcasting Network Asia or CBN Asia. 1 year later in 1995, CBN Asia launched The 700 Club Asia, the longest-running Christian show in Asia led by host of CBN Asia President Gordon Robertson, Filipino actress Coney Reyes, and Filipino news anchor and actor Mari Kaimo.

The 700 Club started as a series of TV Specials from 1960 to 1966, when it became a TV Series in that year. The 700 Club reformatted as a News Magazine Talk show in 1981, exactly 5 years after The 700 Club debuted on GMA 7 in 1976
