I imagine being 3-4 yo (1983-84) and having this……………..I mean…..plus I wasn’t rich I only had one or two little Gobots by year but it was enough for me to create big stories in my head…. if they had that back when i was a kid, it would have been definetly one of the hottest xmas presents for anyone that liked transformers and probably one of the most stolen ones. i had an original optimus prime, but after all of the years as a kid transforming it from truck to robot, it broke and my folks threw it away. it would probably be a small mint now if i still had it. cheers phil! see you in the next one.

My god son got the manually transforming one for his 5th birthday and it took me ages to get him transformed because there is so much detail in them. The most expensive isn't the "best" when your target is a toddler. It's completely broken now 😮‍💨

As a kid I had the full first gen die-cast, rubber tires Op Prime and all these new versions are missing some of the detail from what I remember. For reference I was born in 77'. Don't know if you remember the transformers that transformed into 2 different things like one when from train to jet to robot. Those were intense.

How 'bout a video showing us your bicycle Tomley. I've seen it in the background a few times, but not long enough to tell what it is. I dig old school (and new) BMX stuff. I've owned high-end mountain bikes, road bikes, but nothing beats the simplicity of a BMX bike. (currently riding a 24" DK Sentry from 2013)

This is amazing for sure. When the larger one came out (and now the same with this smaller version) I immediately noticed he transforms incorrectly and it bugs me. Gen 1 Optimus from the 80’s cartoon (and the original toy which this thing is supposedly replicating) does not perform a 180 degree twist at the torso. In other words after transformation he’s heading the wrong way. Optimus is suppose to be able to run in one direction, transform and continue driving in that same direction. Maybe this shouldn’t be a deal breaker … but so far it has been for me.

I believe you can change this in the settings so he faces the right way after transforming.
