A '90s Kid - Fox's Peter Pan & The Pirates

I had 3 of the Aus tapes for this show when I was younger. I always thought to myself as a kid why on earth does hook not disarm Peter of his sword when captured ... "I want my complete revenge on you for cutting off my hand, but you may keep your weapon so long as you promise not to escape!" The rest of the episodes that weren't released on DVD in English can be found on dailymotion by AdriannaD - they have high quality footage from a box set that was either released in Italian or French and the user has dubbed the eng footage over it (and it's actually synced up quite well with the mouth flaps, virtually no stutter)

Oh cool, thanks for the info! I'll check that out! I have no idea why the villains do that haha. It's like when Batman is captured but they don't unmask him. However, being a kid's show they clearly want their hero to win the day so I imagine that is why

Great review! I also have just noticed that the music quality is not only good at the intro --which I findamazing- but also the music from certain scenes is very well crafted. You have a very good example there at 10:16

I loved this cartoon as a kid, and how dark it was, and how much depth it put into its lore. It blew my 9-year-old mind. I'd love to see another cartoon like it get made! There just doesn't seem to be anything else quite like it - kids going on adventures in a dark fantasy setting, with stuff getting very serious at times!

That was a pretty comprehensive review of the series mate. Nice one. Those figures don't look too bad. But yeah not the greatest either. That comic book looks nice though. Good find on the shop poster too. Love it. And I know you will get the DVD's!! ha ha ;) Good stuff as always dude!

Cheers dude. I'm not fussed on the figures but maybe I'd need to see them in person to decide. The books are great and in great condition considering how old they are. I hope they release the entire series on dvd one day. Maybe they need a bit of Mattitude to persuade them? 😏

Yeah there was a NES game. I show it later in this video. However it wasn't very good

Matropolis there's been some rumours now for some time now that they were planing to reboot the series as a requel or remake and sequel as the final episode left it open ended for a continuation as there was meant to be an introduction to Peter Pan's little brother from which established a somewhat complex relationship they had with each other

Oh that would have been cool, but as this aired in the 90s would it make sense to have a direct follow on as the today's kids wouldn't be familiar with this version? I'd like to see this series remastered and released on blu-ray though. This 'big kid' would watch it 🤣

@@Matropolis That's why they would do a requel redo the series and all it's episodes except this time feature new characters like Peter Pan's brother and the sisters of the lost boys. Plus if they did a continuation a sensible option would be to feature flashbacks to the previous episodes

@@Matropolis A lot of people including me have been waiting for that to happen and we could finally see them establish that relationship Peter has with his little brother, plus hints concerning his past and how David's death shaped him. David being his older brother whose demise was said to be the catalyst that made Peter Pan run away to Neverland

I'm gonna make you pull the face Mat lol.. I've never been a fan of Peter Pan in any other form but.... I did used to watch this series at my Grandma's house after school. I do like the epic theme tune. I can't imagine those figures sold very well lol, Not just cos of how they look but I don't imagine the series was that huge for it to make kids want them? What is this dvd you speak of? is it new? .. if you want the series I think you should go to your local video shop and pay £7.99, have you not seen the posters? :P

But...you grew up...fell into the trap..." The theme tune is epic indeed! My fave music from a cartoon ever. I can't even remember seeing the figures anywhere. I'm sure they'd have caught my eye because I loved the cartoon. I also remember watching it after school. You're right...it's bound to be at the video shop! I'll go first thing tomorrow! Second star to the right and straight on until morning!
