The best place to live with family in Dubai is "The Gardens". It is behind Ibn Battuta mall. The flats are bit old but you will not feel that you are living in a city. There is lot of open space and parks inside. Very green. Try this place next time. It is very relaxing here.

I think it would be little more aesthetically pleasing and functional, if you place dining table close to the kitchen area and then move the living space towards the windows.
