Yo, as a fan of Aesop Rock, I questioned the name too. After a minute of research I found out he runs in a group called ASAP and his nickname is Rocky. Everyone in the group goes by ASAP and then their nickname. These guys are real fresh and after watching a couple interviews with Rocky, I got a lot of respect for him cause he keeps it real. Rocky's still killing it, and I enjoy his newer psychedelic vibe but I've definitely been steady chasing more tracks like Trilla ever since the first time I heard it. Staying optimistic, hoping to find some new kid on soundcloud mixing east coast and houston sounds, on top of Das EFX samples, but so far it's mostly mumbling.

It wasn't until Fuckin' Problems was topping the charts playing nonstop on the radio and at house parties in college that people really knew the name. Of course I was that "hipster" kid like, y'all know Rocky and Kendrick have so many better tracks between them right?? hahah. On a real note, there's nothing to be jealous of though, you've already found the gold! Just keep listening to new artists and support the stuff you like. Then be the cool hip-hop head rediscovering the old stuff and it'll be new to you and you can bring it back! Check out Rocky on Theophilus London's "Big Spender" that was another song I had on repeat on my ipod in 2011!
