one thing i love is how normal mode you see aba struggle to swing paracelsus in her dash and normals(or straight up not use him in normals where caracters often use their weapon like her slashes) while in moroha it looks like the only one who feels paracelsus' weight is the person eating a danzai. close slash is metal as all hell since she swings him by the teeth.

I once met a semi-established ABA player in the quick play lobby and had an interesting series of events: >he beats me up four or five games straight >I win one round and taunt afterwards, giving him 50 meter >he grabs my burst >I start playing the matchup half-competently (Faust) >he gets pissy enough to give up mid-game, holding down-back for over a minute across two games >I message him and ask why he did that >"I didn't want to keep playing" >"Then why'd you rematch?" >no answer Then he uploaded recordings of the replays on his KZbin channel with a passive-aggressive title and a rant in the description about ABA's bad matchups and his refusal to learn them or consider changing characters. I have zero respect for ABA players (although it was really funny).

This video definitely has a lot more information just for one character in +r which justifies how complex game can get. By the way, charge blitz(during stun), ex move and slashback feel more inspired by street fighter. Didn't know burst was actually bad in +r. I know xrd has bad burst except for burst throw, but I don't think about it that way. Looking at the video i just realized IK kind of feel better in xrd because i never understand why they add invulnerability.Since i heavily relied on may and aware sol IK kind of @$$ tho. Rn, mashing USF4 kind of noticed some stuff. A.B.A definitely has this game best install.

It's weird to me how much I love fighting Aba in +R and despise fighting her in Strive. It feels like the +R version of the character actually punishes the Aba player for messing up and mismanaging resources, whereas the worst thing that happens to Strive Aba is just not being in moroha for a little bit (which isn't even as bad given that regular mode Aba is way better in Strive than regular Aba in +R)

+R is insane. Turns out iterating on a game over a long period of time results in a polished end product who would have thought. This and CF2 were the peaks of arcsys. It's amazing how fun and unique the chars in this game can be, roboky, cliff and justice are insanely fun even if they get clapped by the toptiers. Its sad how the philosophy has shifted over the years, seeing for example the designated beginner char sol go from low skill floor but high hold this sidewinder loop ceiling to whatever the hell the clown cartoon spinoff game that is strive did with him so everyone can cook.
