I’ll say this. The OG Mudflap deco really fits this mold so much better. You also mistransformed him. His grilles are his toes. The backpack is supposed to have thooping points, so yours is probably suffering from age. Also in bot mode, the crane is supposed to rotate behind his arm with the boom pointing upwards when he’s not using his crane as a massive lance/sword, which REALLY helps his balance.

I actually measured how tall Mudflap is if you have his arm raised all the way up with his crane extended and cyber key gimmick activated. It's the same size as CW Devastator. All by just sticking his arm straight up, having the crane extended and sword folded out. Also I can agree with you that many think of the ROTF Mudflap when they hear his name because they probably think he is the first incarnation to wear the name Mudflap when he isn't. It's like with Bulkhead because when someone says his name they think of Animated and TFP Bulkhead and someone probably believe that Animated Bulkhead is the first Bulkhead when he isn't since that honor belongs to Energon Bulkhead. An old, master Roshi-like guy (less perverted) that turns into a helicopter.

Honestly, the colors look meh on him. The normal Mudflap looks better and I think there was some push for him since this Mudflap was dropped in the Transformers TCG before it died. It was kind of random but cool to see a Cybertron character in the lineup.

I'm planning to get this guy as a stand-in for a CHUG Erector after a red face repaint. The blue version is lovely, but the mold would be better suited for a downsize and make an actual Signal Lancer.

I got a Universe Overload because of your video on it, I got it brand new in the box for £35!…and I opened it, don’t kill me. It was literally cheaper BOXED than it was USED with parts missing! eBay be crazy, but he feels like a new toy because of it and it’s so nice, glad you made a video on it

It's funny, I was wondering when you were going to review this figure. It's up your alley. I bought it not too long ago MIB off Mercari. Been wanting it for years now. I personally like it. It's awkward in some aspects and clunky. Still, I love it. It's better in alt mode. Actually it's great... The details, the color, the articulation and swivels. It's awesome. Glad to finally see this on your channel.

to me mudflap sounds like a name you'd give to a monster truck or offroad type vehicle not a crane or whatever the heck the movie one turned into...heck it'd suit a nascar racer aswell which makes the chocie for wrecker names in the next movie so odd.

Your copy has some awful tolerances. Mine still holds up fine. Also just rotate the crane around thats how he was in the anime most of the time.

I’ve actually always had a bit of a soft spot for this guy. The one Cybertron toy that I would flat out say was bad who I personally owned would have to go to the Thundercracker mold. and this is coming from a guy that had figures like Backstop and Clocker in my collection. Edit: From what I can remember the old Cybertron version of the toy actually had a spot that would sort of keep the backpack from rotating freely

Backstop been called bad I "can" understand (and that's coming from a guy who like's how this figure look's). But Clocker? How is he a bad figure? If anything, I say Overhaul is worse (and again that's coming from a guy who LIKE'S how he look's)

Oh I hate the Thundercraker mold! 2 of them broke in the same place! (The connection between his backpack and his chest… it’s so small and breaks so easily…) What’s worse is my other molds (Skywarp and the Movie repaint) are also showing stress in the same spot…

You know, the way to unlock the pin on the crane is to push it back to it's small position? It unlocks after that, plus you can turn the crane round to get it out the way in robot mode to.

I think the crane and cab seconds are supposed to shift to cover the wheels in robot mode. Doesn't make it less clunky but it helps with the right-arm cyber key port

Funny enough, I made a (Hungarian) Review of the Cybetron version of him this Wednesday. In that particular version, the back "wings" stay in place really well, and even have a soft-lock vertical or horizontally. His Rocket Lancher is indeed a boring feature, but his Sword gimmick (which you seem to forget to show...) is really clever how you can deploy it.

I like this mold a lot actually, good Crane mode and great size and a long crane arm reach. Two Cyber Key gimmicks for a Voyager. I like the robot mode too only flaw to me is the crane arm is too large and can get in the way. sometimes. I actually own 3 of this mold the original, this movie redeco and another movie redeco I added paint apps to to make into Erector. He is actually pretty well articulated compared to other Voyagers that came around at the same time.

Neat fact, the colors are actually a reference to G1 Erector (Heh), but yeah, judging by your complaints on the figure, this thing is suffering heavily from age, and it looks slightly mistransformed, the slabs can be positioned at different angles to fix some of the angling issues, and the feet are flipped wrong

Out of all the UT figures they did repaints of for the 07 line I'm surprised they never did a G1 Shockwave repaint of Energon Shockblast. That would've been so cool and would've sold like hot cakes back in the day. What a missed opportunity.

There should be a soft lock for the backpack. It holds in place just fine on my Cybertron version. You must've gotten a worn-out copy... might have been why it was so cheap. Also, that "latch" is actually a block that's supposed to keep you from inserting the key when the crane is retracted. And again, the crane is supposed to soft-lock in the extended position, and the block should automatically spring down when extended, meaning that you shouldn't be having that issue. Again, my Cybertron figure does this perfectly fine.

Yea, he has issues. The problem is in the arms. The Crane and the cap are just TOO BIG to HEAVY to keep him balanced. But, If I had a chance, I would probadly still buy him, since how often do yo see a con THIS BIG outside of Megs or Triplechangers?

Probably should have sprung for the original. Hasbro had notorious problems with yellow plastics during the Unicron Trilogy, from ABS parts coming out small to nylon parts coming out large, to general issues with color consistency and translucency causing poor paint-matching and an overall loss of visual appeal. It doesn't surprise me that this thing has looseness and fitment issues. That said, a lot of the other problems come down to you mistransforming the feet and forearm kibble.

You know what else is a bad unicron trilogy toy armada hotshot because of his pop up cannon gimmick he has little to no shoulder movement he has no neck movement and no waist movement (though that wasn't really common place in unicron trilogy figures) and to top it all off to activate said cannon gimmick you have to attach a minicon to his butt
