Not Gialli but both worth watching! Black Sunday especially as it's an absolute Gothic horror masterpiece. Kill Baby Kill is right up there with it in that regard, at worst it's every bit as good and many would argue it's better than Black Sunday. So far as Gialli go Bay of Blood is damned fun, and 100% percent worth a watch for horror fans, but it Pales in comparison to Blood and Black Lace. No film hits all of the marks of great giallo across the board quite like that one, and if I had to pick just one giallo to recommend to everyone that would probably be it, one of the first and best of the genre for sure!

It doesn't rank among his best stuff but it's certainly competently executed and a worthy watch at least once. And of course, It's where John Osbourne and the lads knicked the name for the now legendary band!

Yes finally another Italian movie. Italian horror movies were always my favorite. I got so pumped when he announced it and now it’s finally here. Here’s a fun fact, Mario Bava basically created 3 Italian horror movie booms: the gothic horror boom with his black and white Black Sunday(1960). He also was a big part in the creation of the Giallo with Evil Eye also known as The Girl Who New Too Much(1963) and arguably his most famous work Blood and Black Lace(1964). Though Dario Argento was the one who really launched the genre with Bird With the Crystal Plumage(1970) (which extra fun fact was referenced in the Suspiria kill count). He also launched the short lived possession boom with Lisa and the Devil(1973). If you couldn’t tell I like Italian horror. P.S. James if you’re reading this Zombi 2(or Zombie Flesh Eaters or Zombie) is the sequel to Dawn of the Dead in Italy so that means you basically have to cover it(and its 3 sequels 2 of which are unofficial because Italy.). Oh and happy early birthday. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Hey James, I just wanted to let you know that you pronounced "Giallo" wrong. It's actually not pronounced with an 'e' but instead like "juh-all-o", only you say it fast. Anyway, thanks so much for covering this one! Mario Bava is one of my all-time favorite directors and Giallo cinema in general are highly entertaining as they are equally enjoyable. Twitch of Death Nerve AKA A Bay of Blood was also one of the INFAMOUS "Video Nasties", which also include truly some of the best and most notoriously controversial movies in all of Horror cinema. Another one of the first ever Slashers that you should watch is The Thrill Killers (1964), Savage Intruder AKA Hollywood Horror House (1970) & Scream Bloody Murder (1972).

I know it's super niche especially given the vast majority of your audience is US/Canada based and most likely not terribly familiar/interested but they are so stylish, visually interesting, and fun to watch...and the decent to great ones really do deserve remembering/exposure to a wider audience!
