The Steelers got Justin Fields and Russell Wilson for less that $4.5 Million combined Not to mention between the Kenny Pickett and Justin Fields trade, the Steelers gave up a 2024 4th Rd pick and a 2025 6th Rd pick (that could turn into a 4th) for a 2024 3rd, Two 2025 7th rd picks. Essentially getting Justin Fields for nothing 🤣 That is how you GM! What a masterclass by the Steelers

Coming from a Ravens fan, I know the Steelers have had Baltimore's number in recent memory but I think the Steelers are in a situation where they need the guy of the future but don't have the time to get someone and develop them. Russ might be past his prime but it makes sense to get him and to put Fields or some other young QB on the back burner for a bit to get them ready to take the reigns after Russ's contract ends. This division has Lamar, Burrow and Miles Garrett. Steelers have a decent Defense and TJ Watt but they have to take a few wide swings to keep pace with everyone else especially on Offense.

I like Fields and think he has talent, but his passing just didn't improve to the level that was necessary to get ready to pay him a big contract. To me the trade was pretty much certain when Fields didn't seem to take that next step this season and the Panthers gave us the no 1 pick. I don't watch college ball anymore so all that I know about Williams is from pundits and outside sources, but hopefully he lives up to the hype. It would be nice to finally not feel like the season is over in week 3 as a Bears fan, but until the Bears prove that they can actually develop a young QB, its all a moot point. Caleb will have some nice weapons around him, and if we bolster the line...guess we'll see. I've been burned by this team too many times to be even cautiously optimistic at this point. Regardless, I wish Fields the best and hope that he can succeed in Pittsburgh
