Such a pretty background. I have a lot of distress inks. However, a lot of my books are so intricate, and there is not a lot of background space. 😢

I love Tim Holtz products and have been using them for over 20 years, as I am a scrapbooker and card maker as well as a colorist. I use the foam applicators for the inks and actually attach them on the bottom of my ink pads ( I have the big ink pads, but they would probably fit in the small ones). The felt ones that you have are for alcohol inks.

Thank you so much for sharing your process for completing a coloring page. For those of us who are just beginning, it helps to know that we are not alone in our struggles.

Another fun way to add Distress Ink is using an ink color and a stencil. I just kind of fade the color in and out around the page. I'm also wondering is if there would be enough wax in the pencil you put down for it to resist the ink. Might be worth looking in to

Ok this is FUN. I´ve also been using distressinks for years, in my cardmaking. I think if you get distressink over your Prismacolors you can gently wipe it away with a dry cloth. The wax should resist the ink. There are inkblending brushes and there are some really tiny ones, but if you have small makeupbrushes that could also work. If you tap your dabber/brush just slightly on a peace of paper after loading ink on it, before going to the page, that prevent getting spots of ink. Thank you so much for your videos! I have learned so MUCH. I´m so heavy handed with my pencils, but watching your gentle coloring has been really helpful! 😊☺

Definitely experiment with distress inks sometime soon. They are so much fun and I love the background I created and the beautiful bright colors. Next time I may use them on an entire coloring page with pencils. Happy Coloring!

Did youbalso kkow you can use these like a water colour? All you do is smoosh the ink pad on a glass type or silicone mat....and grab a paint brush! Water brush or tombow blender, i think even the alcohol blender pen will work! So so fun!!! And dont forget to blend those coloyrs to get other colours!

Ooh, also the felt pads are really for use with alcohol inks. Try the foam pads for the blending tool!

This is so gorgeous--very Eastery!!! I haven't gotten the Distress Inks yet, was afraid of them. You have sold me on them, for sure. I hope they are as nice to me as they were to you--your color sense is perfect!!!

You can add a spot of glycerin on a mat and mix with the ink and it glides over paper

Try Squeezed Lemonade for a nice lemon. Also Distress Glaze is great for covering the areas you've already coloured, to do the background. It acts as a resist 😊.

How Awesome, but I would like to ask if you need to use a fixative over those distress inks to stop them transferring over to the opposite page. Tfs xo.
@PamelasPassionforPencils
@PamelasPassionforPencils Жыл бұрын
You don’t need a fixative. The ink dries and stays. 😀

This is a beautiful background. I am a card maker so I use a lot of distress oxide inks with blending brushes. Now I want to try those on a background lol. I’m so happy I found your channel!!!

Hi pamela! I love watching your videos and I learn so much from you. I really enjoyed watching you use the distress inks amd am interested in starting with a few colors or kits, whichever makes the most sense. Are there frequently used background colors or specific kits you would recommend starting with? Thank you so much for your thoughts!

Hi😊 What is the difference between the regular distressed ink and the oxide ink? Do you use them in the same way? Thank you love love love your products for organizing your coloring and love watching your tutorials and color combinations for Prismacolor. 😊😊

Hi, the ink is different. Distress ink is of the dye ink family, more transparent and dries quickly.Oxides are mainly pigment ink, they have a slightly chalky finish and are more opaque, they are also slower drying. Hope that helps

Will the inks mark the other page when the book is closed?
@PamelasPassionforPencils

I didn't have an issue when closing the book. As long as you wait for them to dry, you're fine. They dry quickly.
