A beautiful birthday 🎂

There was a very lovely birthday celebration in the house this week, so let me show you a few snippets from the day. An incredibly easy to put together Tiny 2 tier cake (NOT made by my hand I hasten to add), lunch out, a spot of shopping and the now traditional balloon🎈 arch around the front door. Probably for the last time. 😥
over the years we have thrown lots of parties as Violet has grown up, but this was probably my favourite. Very relaxed, simple and low key. Mainly due to it being in the midst of A levels and no longer being in the era of 'kids parties', which I've got to admit, I don't miss one bit! Wish they'd all been as laid back and easy as this.

Wow 18! Adult now, well not really. I have a 19 and 22 yr old and though they like to think their adults-they really don’t act like it yet! Great idea for the small cake, really made it look special. And that balloon arch would make me feel special too. Cookies looked yummy, and that plate you put them on 😍😍

Totally agree with that, young adult .. but ... not quite! I was so pleased with how the cake turned out, and all the decorations really. Considering I put in barely any thought , certainly didn't plan much, but it turned out nicely. Ah, the plate. It's H&M home, and I looked on the website recently and they still have it up for sale if you're interested! x

you are right! Been doing them longer than I realised. The first version was really small but I was so pleased with it. The arches have grown and grown over the years, but I feel this is the final one. Should be sad, but quite relieved!! Thank you for the bd wishes x

Thank you Suzanne, and yes, totally agree! It does feel as if they've grown up together. The same trials and tribulations! You must try the cookies, they were so good. And so easy. Aw, the plate. You know when you get a delivery and somehow, even before you open it, you just KNOW there's a mishap inside? I had that. But the mug more than made up for it. xx

Happy to see them grow into young adults, but, such a scary world and we have to encourage them to go out into it.
