Magnus Carlsen was up against Ian Nepomniachtchi in the 15th round of the World Blitz Championships 2022. It was a rematch of their World Championship Match 2021. It was an unbelievably intense game with Nepo putting immense pressure on Carlsen. But how did the game end? It ended with a very nice gesture by the World Champion. I didn't like Magnus at first. I think it was mainly because I couldn't connect because his language, humor and some manners are so different. After getting to know him (vis his web presence and games and interviews) I think he is a good guy, actually. Count me as a Magnus fan lite. (plus, seeing what real jerks are out there playing chess - Hans and others - then it automatically makes others rise)

Players are not obliged to set up pieces after the game. There is no such rule. It's completely the player's choice.

Position was even not so bad when Carlsen flagged .White was little better, but +1.6 is not decisive yet, especially in blitz

The players are not required to arrange the pieces. It's their choice whether they want to do it or not.

Chess coaches of juniors should teach setting up the pieces after you have played as a part of chess etiquette, whether you win or lose, so it is drilled into the players to not leave a mess. This seems to be a gap in many players knowledge - just witness at the state of an analysis room at many chess tournaments!
