I agree that there are plenty of homes like these in Pakistan and the middle class is emerging, which is a great sign. I would still consider this home for the Upper Middle Class, and the 5 - 10 marlas for the middle class. Because it is a luxury to own a 1 Kanal double story home like this one. This home is considered luxury even by Western standards. I love the finishes and sense of design in this house. I have seen larger and more expensive homes in that same neighborhood with a great layout but poor design choices. This one beats them all. I wonder if this kind of home is still available for this price? I would like to see more if you can share. Thanks!

Sorry only noticed you remarks just now, not sure if I missed it or replied to it before. This house was made by a company called Construction Consortium in Lahore. Try their website your Facebook page and I am sure you can contact them. I am not sure about the price fluctuation as I am based in Scotland but give or take 20% because it wasn't very long ago. They mainly construct for their clients but sometimes have some houses for sale as well.

My dad is Pakistani, and if you ever want to buy a house in Pakistan. Always buy it in Defence, the smaller the number of the phase, the better. Most defence homes are like this, nothing new.

Not sure if that is always the case, could either be the water supply of the area, the rust accumulated in the internal water tank or supply or only God knows. I am really not an expert to comment and yes I have seen the rusty water that you are referring to; its not that common though.

I'm afraid, I won't have access to that, I am located in Edinburgh most of the time. This house was on sale by a company I am associated to so I decided to share the video. +Huzaifa Zahid Depends on how you define middle class. People living in 1 Kanal houses in DHA are in thousands and make up for large majority of Lahore's middle class. The rich live in 8 Kanal houses in Model Town, or their own private estates which are in acres. I understand that in Pakistan the term middle class is used for somewhat poor people but that is not what it actually means in sociological terms.

Whilst I agree with you for most part, I must clarify that this is a light hearted video to show such houses exist in Pakistan and not to really analyse the country economically as this wouldn't be an appropriate platform for that. We can also disagree on the subjective definition of middle class and for purposes of this video I do not mind if you call them elites, nonetheless, DHA Lahore has 35000 houses and half of them at least are 1 Kanal the same as this house, so just in defence Lahore alone I'd expect well over 20,000 houses like this.

Just curious about what industry in the Islamic World could provide an existence whereby the children are fully fed, clothed, educated, and there is a surplus for advancement; i.e., for a larger house, college education for better possibilities for your progeny. I am almost totally clueless, as to what you are asking and why you are asking? Lets take it on face value that you are genuinely curious, I truly did not mean to give a hostile response. The reason why I would yet again, struggle to frame this answer is because, industry can be more linked to a particular economy or a nation state - not islamic world in my opinion - there are rich muslim countries and poor ones, so I don't know if I can even comment on so many of them as I don't know their internal business. Now lets assume, we are talking about Pakistan (if you casually meant to use Islamic world for Pakistan). Since the gap is huge within Pakistani social stratification, such houses cannot be afforded by the working classes - tradesmen etc. They still have to be introduced to more leftists ideas. Nevertheless, top lawyers, bankers, engineers, artists, media personalities, celebrities all tend to afford similar if not better houses; by the time you own such a house, you can already afford the basic food, education, college and university degree for children. Therefore, after securing the basics, these people in my eyes would be eligible to be called middle class, just like their western counterpart. I don't know what the actual question is, but I hope some part of it is addressed.
