From the one, short trailer I'd seen of it, I was really looking forward to this movie. I immeditally suspected that I would love it, and that it could even rival The Wild Robot (which I absolutely adored!). But after seeing it. Like you mentioned regarding the bird that just suddenly floated into the light. The waterdrops floating upwards and becoming the ocean, which in turn became the universe just before that moment, before it's just suddenly gone. No real reason/indication as to why they had to get to that tall mountain. The forest suddenly breaking through the surface, only for the water to seemingly start taking over again, before the forest "takes over"/"wins" and the water goes away just as suddenly as it had come. The way the lemur just suddenly had found and gotten accepted into a massive group of lemurs just like that after the forest came back. The sudden and abrupt ending. The other dogs that was just there to make things more difficult for the other animals. And the cat falling over board/being left behind a good handful of times. Apologies, I realice I must sound very negative, but I had so high hopes for this movie, and to realice it in large parts wasn't anything like I was expecting it to be after the trailer. I was looking forward to a "simple" movie of a group of animals trying to come together and survive as they look for new land, but with all of the stuff mentioned above, I just wasn't able to enjoy myself nearly as much as I had originally suspected that I was going to (plus it had some jarring cuts/timeskips - also, there's several scenes where, after the other dogs join the boat, they aren't actually shown being in the boat, which added to my "So, other then to cause extra, unnecessary trouble, why are you actually here when the cast is already 5, 6 if you count the whale looking creature, members big?" feeling - ).
