Indian Motorcycle of Daytona Beach will soon become the newest Victory Dealer in the USA. While at Daytona Bike Week, I had the pleasure of meeting the dealership owner and he gave me an introduction to the current Indian Motorcycle lineup.

These bikes are not overpriced . Have you ever seen one? Beautifully milled parts, spectacular chrome, and not to mention the leather! The bags on this bike are the softest leather I've ever touched. This bike isn't for everybody. Someday.... Someday......

Hey Tony - you're right - my '02 Gilroy Indian Spirit does draw a lot of attention. Its styling remains true to form, but unfortunately, the newest Indian owners just didn't have a powerplant ready, so they popped the S&S into it (albeit with indian covers). Maybe when it craps out, I'll see if the new 111 will fit. Meanwhile, I'll proudly ride my Indian and enjoy it. It was built by some people who tried their best to keep this icon of motorcycles alive and kicking - can't take that away...

The up side, these are amazingly awesome bikes! We were seriously interested in purchasing a chief vintage, but six Indian dealers nationwide . . .Yeah, I can see driving five hundred miles for service. Also, trying to get a reasonable test ride on a chief was worse than pulling teeth, so thanks again Indian for the wasted drive to the Chicago dealer, which is now closed.

One thing Indian should do other than Victory and Harley is build a sports bike it be in a different category where the other 2 won't go in. Remember the Indian 4? they should go a different path like a modern board track racers and cafe racers just to get the young riders something to look forward to in the future.

Polaris Indian motorcycles are not a true Indian motorcycles they are Polaris motorcycles with an Indian badge. Take a look at the link and you will see that at least the original Indian motorcycles were not made in Japan. Harley-Davidson motorcycle were made in Japan from 1930 to 1958 using a factory and HD tooling supplied to the Japanese by Harley-Davidson. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rikuo_Motorcycle So now you have something to tell all of your Harley friends.

New Indians are not real, and are actually Polaris with an Indian badge!? WOAH…I had no idea that Polaris borrowed their Thunderstroke and Challenger V-twins from their snowmobiles, atv’s, and Side by sides to use for the new Indians? I betcha those dirty Polaris execs reused the left over Slingshot frames to make the Indian’s frame…you know because the slingshot is classified as a motorcycle and all. I’m not an idiot, I’m well aware Polaris owns Indian, but your theory/statement on Indian being a “Polaris” is a complete fallacy. If you think otherwise, I’d suggest you reflect. One other thing…why bring up such a comment regarding the new Indian bikes when this video is showcasing the older discontinued 105 Bottle Cap Gen. Indians. While they share the same name, they come from 2 completely different manufacturing plants owned by different entities.

I'm was trying to purchase a bike from Indian, but they're service is so atrocious that I simply cannot justify giving my money to such a terrible company. I walked into the door of their dealer here in St. Paul MN, with money in hand and pre-approved credit for a brand new motorcycle. But the condescending, belittling attitude of their sales staff was beyond palpable. I mean... how do you screw up a sale from someone who already knows what they want, with money in hand and all they simply want to do is ask a few questions and place the order? I could barely get a brochure from the guy and every question I asked was followed up by argumentative, disgruntled attitude. And then when I called the Indian "customer service" line, all I got was the canned "we're sorry for your experience Sir... blah, blah, blah...". There was no sense of urgency, no escalation, no personal responsibility to make things better, no reaching out personally, it was like dealing with the cable company. The level of personal detachment and corporate rigidity was breath taking! I went from feeling proud to feeling embarrassed that Minnesota is the state that this company calls home. I was at the Harley Davidson dealer that's literally across the parking lot from the Indian dealer and the difference is night and day. The Harley dealer's attention and service was AWESOME! They worked with me, answered every question, talked product, joked, gave me a tour of their entire facility, talked about their service, programs, clubs, parties, bike options, showed me their custom shop, their mechanics... they even showed me pictures of their kids and talked about family. When I was in their shop they made me feel like I was the most important person in the world. The Indian dealer unfortunately was the complete and total opposite, which may explain why the Harley dealer is packed from the moment they open their doors to the moment they close... the Indian dealer is almost always empty. I have to recommend to anyone thinking of purchasing a product from this company to think twice... if their service is this bad when you're trying to give them your money, just think how bad it will be after they have your money. I wanted to shop American and more importantly, from a company that's based in my own community. But I've never experienced service that was so poor with an "I don't care" attitude from a company that I walked away sincerely feeling like they simply don't care if I shop their or not. It's no wonder Harley is out selling them 10 to 1. Save yourself some time, spend the extra money and buy a Harley. There's no service at Indian because they simply don't care.

Chris Free Hi Chris, Thank you for your well thought out response, and while I certainly applaud your respectful tone, I must say that you make several assumptions that I in no way tried to imply. I'm not completely sure where you're going with your comments, but certainly making this about "me" rather than my poor service experience, is kind of a smoke screen for you to hide behind while you elaborate on some preconceived notion of what kind of person you want me, and perhaps other Harley Davidson fans, to be. Here is my position; I expect end-to-end full service for my money. Period-full stop. I will never give my money to an organization that treats me like crap. Moreover; I fail to understand why, when I describe my experience, you summarily dismiss and attempt to invalidate me as someone who fits into what you describe as someone looking "for a lifestyle, rather than a product" or as the typical "Harley" life stylist. I can assure you that I have no desires or fantasies of reliving my youth or portraying myself as someone different than whom I am. I like to ride and I have since I was a youngster. The simple fact of the matter is that the dealer treated me like crap and the manufacturer couldn't have cared less. How does me pointing out this poor service translate into me searching for a "sense of belonging"? Simply put... I don't do business with people that don't care about me as a customer. This practice has nothing to do with "wanting to belong", or "seeking a lifestyle" or not caring about the product. This is about END-TO-END product life-cycle management, which by the way, certainly includes the customer. Perhaps this concept is foreign to you, or maybe you don't see the value in it? In either event; it certainly has everything to do with the product and I surely won't attempt to place my pre-judged notions on who you are because of your purchasing beliefs and practices. So, contrary to your thesis, this was not merely an issue with the dealer, it also included the manufacturer for they totally failed to address the issue, much less make matters better. I have to think that you're somehow offended or bothered by my post because you happen to do business with this company and your experience was different. That's cool and I can appreciate and respect your customer loyalty. However; in return please don't make assumptions on who you think I am based upon some preconceived notion that you're attempting to apply to my experience. I'll just chalk it up as a different experience and a different take on a business entity. Obviously you fall more into their demographic of customers that care more about the "product" and less about the experience/service. And again... no judgment... that's cool. I have no desire to be in a club or seek out some commercially glorified lifestyle... those are your assumptions... not mine, never said it, never implied it. I'm just a person that expects that SERVICE is part of what I pay for when I make a purchase. Bottom Line: Indian fumbled the ball. Harley Davidson didn't.

Nice bikes I recently was at a Harley dealer and one of the late 90's Gilroy Indians pulled up with the dreadful S&S Evo (Old "real" Indian riders are still spinning in their graves that a Harley motor is in a Indian) point is... the bike drew a LOT of attention and was nowhere near as nice as the bike in the video lets hope 2 things first the Victory sylists stay away from the indian and second the bike is price pointed a little closer to sanity than the Stellican Indians were
