One of the best instructional videos I've seen, good to highlight the things people do wrong, clear and concise.

This video was SUPER helpful, thank you! I really appreciate all the, "Many mistakes beginners make" bits. They were exactly the mistakes I was doing, and hadn't realized it. I've watched a lot of pottery videos, and I think most of them make certain assumptions that beginners know certain things . . . Great video!

You are super great at explaining for beginners! I will use your method in centering using both hands and hopefully have seen how to pull it up without leaving a thick base! You are a really good instructional teacher for beginners! I would love to see what other videos you have! Thank you so much!

I’d recommend getting a teacher with around 40 years under there belt if you starting out. Don’t pickup the bad habits of people still learning. I would recommend Simon Leech or Vaughn Smith. Excellent potters that I have learned loads from.

I still dont get how the clay just looks like it moves however you want when you apply pressure to it. In my classes i cant get the clay to move, i feel like im pushing and squeezing with all my force and its doesnt respond and i just get muck and slag all over me. I cant even set a base and cone it up and down

The woman made the analogy of us being children kidnapped from our mother, it's more accurately like a crackhead parent selling their child, then as you're an adult they want you to pay your way back into their house.

There are so many wrong things in that video. You are in an early intermediate level and it really shows. That would be Great but when you choose to teach others be careful what you teach because if a beginner learns the wrong way then one can never learn properly.

It would be better to point out what things are wrong than to just say there are so many things wrong. Anyone can just walk over and say oh there's so many things wrong here, and that is basically saying nothing. You can be wrong about what you think she got wrong, but since you are unwilling to put yourself out for judgment like she is, your words are kind of pointless.

@@AstarTiamat Does any of you practice ceramics for more than, let's say, 3 years? Including this young lady that made this video. I just pointed out the obvious. That you don't pretend to teach others when it is you who neads teaching still. And on the contrary I happen to be a ceramics teacher. So I feel I pretty much know what I am talking about. I agree there are lots of things to learn from everyone but there are lots and lots of videos in this platform that are so much better. And if one can not take an honest truth, then maybe they should consider not making their work available for judging.
