Thanks Mark and yeah man, I'm thinking about picking one up myself as well.. Would be nice to go full 10-bit video in the studio without having to switch cameras in and out. My overhead is the now old zve10.. haha

I really appreciate that Joe!! I can't even tell you how much time I spent on that intro... haha I just kept playing with trying to make it better for days, then just started over with new music etc. I really need to get better at the cool edits ;) I was blown away with your latest video production work on your ZV-E10 II review!! Another great in depth look! I ordered this to have a lighter version of my zve1 setup. I'm excited to try this lighter option when on the go :) I went ahead and got the kit lens and already have the 11mm. Have you tried the Sigma 10-18 f2.8? I've heard great things about it.
@Jason_Hermann5 ай бұрын
Hey Molly, thanks and yeah the lighter aps-c option is awesome for certain things and my go to for mt biking. Im using the heavier a6700 currently, so I think I’m going to get one of these as well. As far as the sigma, I have not used that lens yet, but I have heard good things…

getting here tomorrow with the sigma 16 1.4, and m3s gimble but might return gimble and just get the rs mini 3

Great video Jason! Just wondering, can this record 4k60 10-bit directly to an SSD via usb-c instead of the memory card? That would save me a lot of money on those expensive v90 cards.

Thank you for this! Can’t wait for the beginners guide! This is one of the cameras I’m really debating on getting as a beginner / amateur (this and the a6700 really). My main use of a camera will be taking it on my snowboard trips and I’m wondering if getting this is the right idea. My main holdup is no 4k120fps for b-roll / slow motion as the a6700 has. But I can’t deny the crazy amount of quality of life features this camera has. Additionally, wondering if I get the zv-e10 ii camera in addition to the 11mm f1.8 Sony lens instead of just getting the a6700 with the base kit (as those two options would be around the same price, $1400 for a6700 and ~$1500 zv-e10 ii with 11mm f1.8 lens). What are your professional thoughts? Haha thank you!

Zve10 II or A6700?? I’m trying to upgrade from my zv1
@Jason_Hermann6 ай бұрын
Well in my opinion they would both be upgrades, because you can use any lens on them but between the two it really depends on what features matter to you most. For example the A6700 has the 5-Axis Sensor Stabilization, Viewfinder, Mechanical Shutter, Ai Chip, Bulb Mode, and 4k/120p which are all significant enough extra features to justify the extra cost. If you don't need those extra features then I would go with the ZVE10 II.

Hi Jason, great review! An idea for a possible nex video. A7C II paired with a 1.8 or 2.0 lens and ZV E10 II paired with the viltrox 27mm 1.2 in low light
@Jason_Hermann6 ай бұрын
Hey there, I don't have the ZV-E10 II anymore, but I have the A6700 which has the same sensor, so I could possible due that test, but why exactly? To compare noise? Depth of field differences? Thanks, Jay

Jason, you titled your video precisely. This is a GREAT camera for a beginner. For me, it doesn't give me some of the things I particularly want to upgrade from my mark 1. No IBIS or dynamic stabilization is an issue for me, and a few other small issues. But, if you are reading this, please consider the Mark 1 that will be discounted a little more (probably) after this one comes out. both are still great cameras!
@Jason_Hermann6 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and fair points.. Sounds like the ZV-E1 or the A6700 might be a better option for you currently then? Or just hold onto the already awesome ZV-E10. The ZV-E1 has the dynamic stab, and the A6700 is a crop factor with IBIS and a viewfinder which is great for outdoor work. With IBIS, you don't really need the dynamic as much in my opinion, but still a great feature to have regardless. I think that is why the a6700 does not have dynamic...
@tdavis73966 ай бұрын
@@Jason_Hermann You are on point, Jason! lol, yes I've been considering an upgrade for a while, but I wanted to wait until the Mark II came out. Now that we know the specs and everything, I think the 6700 is going to be my camera of choice. But, hey, the ZV-E10 mark I or II are great cameras!
@Jason_Hermann6 ай бұрын
I agree and if I were in your shoes based on the specs you mentioned, the A6700 would be the camera I would recommend. The IBIS, EVF, Mechanical Shutter, Ai Chip, Bulb Mode, & 4k/120p are all significant enough extra features to justify the extra cost in my opinion and it's why I own one. The A6700 is a bit more of a hardcore enthusiast to pro level camera as far as the features and knowledge required to use the camera to it's potential. The ZV cameras are way more optimized for ease of use with limited "knowledge" required. It really is a lot easier to just push a few buttons for beginners to get great results and that is why the ZV cameras sell so well. I really appreciate your comments and all the best, Jay

Is this camera good for wildlife videographers or photographers?
@Jason_Hermann6 ай бұрын
I would say not the best option, because it doesn't have a viewfinder and may overheat with extended recording in higher temperatures. If you are hardcore filming in warm temperatures, then I would consider the FX30 for video, because it has the active cooling fan inside the body. Something like the A6700 which has a viewfinder would be better for photography and video in the field as well, but keep in mind the possible overheating for video depending on temps and how long you plan to record for. I hope that helps, Jay

This camera or A6700?
@Jason_Hermann5 ай бұрын
I would rather have the A6700 personally, but I really want the viewfinder for outdoor sunny weather work, and the IBIS sensor stabilization as well as the mechanical shutter for sports...
